Flowstone Margaret River Moonmilk White Blends

With a rich history, and considered one of the founding varieties, it has suffered from nomenclature confusion with Sauvignon Blanc, name changes to Traminer (a non-aromatic version of Gewurztraminer), and its presence in Australia through the misunderstanding that it was Albarinho. It does still have a spiritual home in the Jura, in the east of France, next to Switzerland, where it does make some very distinctive wines. This wine brings the family of confusion together, to give a wine of great flavour, texture, minerality, and freshness. To this, we have added a dollop of Viognier to add some mid palate textures.

Flowstone Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc

Appearance: Vibrant green gold. Aroma: Punchy guava with white flesh nectarine, and a hint of passionfruit pulp lift from the glass. There is an underlying lime zest note that helps to support these exotic characters. Citrus and subtle creamy elements help to complex the wine. This is a multi-layered, and engaging nose.Palate: Ripe nectarines, guava, some flinty highlights, with a lime zest finish. The palate has wonderful textures, while retaining a juiciness of fruit and lightness. There is great intensity of fruit, and fantastic length of flavour. The wine finished with a chalky mineral acidity, but subtle fruit flavours linger with this cleansing finale. The length of palate is the real key here - this is a Sauvignon Blanc that can be ruminated upon, but also just enjoyed.
