Hellyers Road Distillery, situated on the picturesque northern Tasmanian coast line, was established in 1997 and is Australia's largest distiller of Australian single malt whisky. Named after Henry Hellyer who was one of the first explorers to set foot in the interior north of the then Van Dieman's Land. This 10 Year Old single malt whisky is Hellyers flagship product and is distilled from Tasmanian grown malted barley, pure rainwater and yeast. American White Oak barrels are used to mature this bespoke malt that delivers a smooth and balanced taste.

Our peated grain is sourced from Bairds Maltings in Scotland – renowned for supplying many of the peated whisky distillery icons. This release represents our passion to continuously craft world class peated single malt whiskies of incredible distinction and quality. A gently, but distinctly peated whisky with a blended mash bill of unpeated Tasmanian malted barley and traditionally peated malt, aged for seven years in first fill American Oak ex-Bourbon casks. A “gateway” peated single malt - luring in many who, until trying it, thought they did not like peated whisky.

Matured for eight years, this distinguished single malt begins its journey in bourbon casks, developing a smooth foundation before a secondary maturation in fine old tawny casks imparts layers of rich complexity. Nose: Ginger snaps and baking spice, layered with buttery fruit toast. Hints of tobacco and sandalwood add depth. Palate: Red delicious toffee apples and fresh plums preserved in syrup. Dark chocolate and mejdool dates intertwine, while oak tannins provide balance against a rich dark fruit backdrop Finish: A complex dram with well-balanced warmth across the palate and a lingering, satisfying finish.
Hellyers Road Oloroso de Jerez 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
This sherry cask single malt was matured for 10 years in traditional 250 litre Oloroso casks from Jerez (Spain) and represents the oldest fully matured sherry cask whisky known to be released by any Australian distillery to date and continues Hellyers Road’s legacy of producing sherry cask whiskies of incredible distinction and quality. Toffee, treacle, orange zest, brioche and clove on the nose. Palate coating with rich caramel, honey, subtle chocolate and stewed fruits. The finish is incredibly smooth and elegant with morish sweet notes.

A twist of lemon peel and vibrant florals, grounded by oatmeal, cream, dried apricots, and a hint of cacao nibs. Palate: Vanilla ice cream with strawberries in syrup. Plump sultanas and a full, sweet mid-palate, with a whisper of smoke. Finish: Medium length, smooth and moreish.
