Michel Chapoutier has been able to do it again! A savoury masterpiece from the southern Rhône appellation of Luberon. A spicy blend of Grenache and Syrah that displays intense varietal characters of nutmeg and black pepper. The palate, while medium-bodied, is quite forceful with robust flavours of blueberry and blackberry fruits. Great use of older oak has also assisted this Luberon be a brilliant follow on from the every popular Chapoutier Côteaux-du-Tricastin.

M chapoutier Ermitage Le Meal
A classic Hermitage, M.Chapoutiers Ermitage Le Méal typically shows ripe red berry fruits, powerful tannins and velvety texture. Le Méal, is an old French word meaning the best. The fruit is sourced from a single east-facing vineyard anchored on chalk and alluvial gravelly soils on the Hill of Hermitage. The Syrah is hand-harvested and de-stemmed before undergoing vinification in small concrete vats. Maturation takes place in a mix of new and seasoned French oak barrels for 14-18 months.

Reminiscent of the 1991, the 2006 Le Pavillon has a wonderful opaque colour of dark purple with a brilliant nose of smoky oak, cassis and truffle. In the mouth the wine truly sings with remarkable flavours of licorice, blackberry and intense dark cherry. The tannin precision and length of acid are truly exceptional and will help this behemoth of a wine cellar up until the 2040s!

One of the longest-lived white wines in France, the extremely rare M.Chapoutier Ermitage de lOrée is a single varietal Marsanne sourced from a single vineyard Murets plot at the eastern edge of the Hill of Hermitage. Orée means edge in French and is also a reference to the colour of the wine as or in French means gold. Rich, full-bodied and immensely complex, Ermitage de lOrée has the structure and concentration to age often well beyond 50 years.

Deep red garnet with violet highlights. Ripe fruits and powerful tannins, mellow, stewed blackberries, can be cellared for a considerable time.
