Mt Bera Vineyards Adelaide Hills GRUVEE Gruner Veltliner
Grüner Veltliner or "The Green Grape of the Valtellina" is a unique Austrian varietal that boasts high quantities of fruit and character. Grüner is known for its expression of terroir and this wine boasts a balance of varietal freshness and slight palate sweetness. A bouncy, frisky grüner with grapefruit and lime citrusy intent. There's licks of mint and tonic water in the mix, a touch of lemongrass and light radish savoury-spiciness, too. It feels very thirst-quenching and very energetic with tart, tingly, minerally acidity trailing on long after each taste. In the zone. MIKE BENNIE, WINE COMPANION.
Mt Bera Vineyards Adelaide Hills DREAMCATCHER White Field Blend
This block was appended to Mt Bera in 2016. It began life as the Pilot Block for Caj and Genny Amadio’s Gumeracha Estates, which evolved into the Chain of Ponds Wines business. 9 different varieties of grapes were planted as one of the first trial vineyards in the Adelaide Hills in 1985 to test which varieties were most suited to the area. Due to the exceptional quality of the grapes produced, the surrounding Gumeracha Vineyards were then planted next to it with a range of varieties on larger areas, and the 9 varieties were reduced to two within the Pilot Block – Sauvignon Blan and Pinot Gris – which remain today. This wine is a tribute to the dreams of Caj and Genny Amadio and the pioneering spirit needed to establish a new wine area around Gumeracha. Very light colour with a bouquet of almond-meal, a note of smoky, leesy funk, and the palate is medium bodied, intense and properly dry, with a touch of phenolic grip enhancing its dryness and length.Huon Hooke.
