The Nugan family history spans three generations and more than 80 years, displaying determination and passion. This benchmark McLaren Vale Shiraz is a tribute to the drive and vision of the Matriarch of the Nugan Family, Michelle Carruthers Nugan.

The bouquet is vibrant with enticing blood plum, cherry, and dark chocolate aromas. A fleshy palate features bright acidity and soft, plush tannins. Damson plum and bramble fruit flavours with entrenched nuances of dried herb and white pepper.

Full bodied. Aromas of dark cherry and blood plum over milk chocolate oak. The palate displays rich and generous flavours of black cherry, plum pudding and dark chocolate melded with earth and vanillin notes.

Vibrant and bright. An elegant bouquet featuring layers of black fruit with hints of tobacco and spice. Black cherry and cassis fruit engulfs the palate. Riding on rich silky tannin the wine finishes with subtle cedar and vanilla bean nuances.

The Nugan family is dedicated to showcasing the best vareitals from our finest growing regions. Dry warm sunny days with cool nights produced optimum fruit flavours. After picking, the Shiraz was crushed and softly bag pressed in traditional style to avoid the extraction of bitter tannins. The wine was fermentated in static fermenters, followed by further maturation with new and seasoned French and American oak prior to final blending.

Chardonnay sourced from Victorias cool climate King Valley goes into Nugan's Estate Chardonnay. Pale straw in appearance, with a youthful green hue. Aromas of peach, nectarine, poached peach and mixed spice, a rich mout filling palate of stone fruit, biscuit and yeast notes with a crisp acidity make this a good drink.
