It's the same symbol that appears on the national flag of Wales and the Royal Welsh badge bears the motto, ‘The red dragon inspires action.’ Matured in x Bourbon casks before receiving a further maturation in x Madeira wine casks, this is a whisky of restrained stye, both on the nose and palate. In moments akin to a light grain or Irish blend, there are mere suggestions of tropical fruit and citrus punctuating the soft barley and muesli, augmented by wisps of pepper, while frail notes of honey and melon surface in a clean, crisp finish. 41% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

"What is Welsh for Wow!?" - Jim Murray 'Myth' is the second whisky in Penderyn's 'Dragon' range of 41% ABV expressions, along with Celt and Legend. This departs from the distillery's commonly found style of ex-Madeira wine cask-finishing, preferencing ex-bourbon and ex red wine casks. There are less pedestrian flavours of melon and green apple suggested through the vanilla and biscuit-like malt and while it is arguably the fruitier of the three in the collection, it remains a subtle, low-key whisky experience with little to no burn, leaving the impression of a well-made low ABV blend.
