One of the benchmark wines to come out of the Coonawarra, the Penfolds Bin 128 is a delightful cool-climate shiraz. Matured in French Oak, with flavours of white pepper and floral spice, the 2014 Bin 128 is a rich and full-bodied Shiraz.

Bin 8 has been crafted in the traditional Penfolds style. Ripe, balanced fruit flavours are supported by softly integrated oak resulting in an impressive, smooth red wine. Textured, plush tannins create a neat and tidy framework to house rich blackberry fruit spiced by derived vanilla pod. Barrel maturation has added a creamy texture and mouthfeel.

This supple, elegant and beautifully aromatic wine shows classic blackcurrant and cedar characters, supported by the gentle oak maturation that is so distinctively Penfolds.

Crafted utilising fully-ripe, intensely-flavoured and structured shiraz grapes, the result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the world’s great wines. With an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951, Grange clearly demonstrates the synergy between shiraz and the soils and climates of South Australia. A fusion of preserved figs, black plum, blackberry and black liquorice flirts with an aromatic elution of fish oil, anchovy, soy and sesame/nori. Bin 389, often called ‘Baby Grange’, blends the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz, creating a classic Penfolds red. Bright crimson in colour, it opens with lifted aromas of rich dark fruit that carry through to a balanced palate, where the sweetness of Cabernet meets the savoury depth of Shiraz. Perfectly cellared, it’s drinking beautifully now, with oak and tannins providing structure without dominating.

First crafted in 1959, Bin 28 is the original Penfolds Bin wine — a rich, glossy Shiraz that embodies the house style. Layers of dark fruit, tobacco and subtle dried spice unfold over a supple tannin structure. Perfectly cellared, it’s drinking beautifully now and pairs superbly with mature cheeses and savoury dishes.

After resting in the Cellar, the Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking beautifully, offering all the hallmarks of a great Australian Cabernet with remarkable depth and sophistication. This is a full-bodied, elegantly structured wine where dark, ripe blackcurrant and black cherry flavours are now seamlessly interwoven with notes of mocha, chocolate, and oak spice. Hints of dried herbs and menthol lift the aromatic profile, while the fine, rounded tannins deliver approachable richness and varietal clarity. Reliable, dependable, and constant, this wine is a graceful, layered expression of classic Cabernet.

The Penfolds RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz is a poised and elegant single-region expression, now beautifully entering its next phase of evolution. Retaining its signature power and precision, this concentrated wine delivers immense depth and harmony. The core of black plum jam is enriched by seamless French oak, revealing layered notes of mocha, dark chocolate, and cedar. Perfectly balanced, the tannins melt across the mouth, creating a refined and long-lived style that is drinking superbly now and promises many more graceful years ahead.

Having gained complexity with bottle age, this Southern Rhône-inspired SGM blend (Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro) now offers a rich and heady, opulent experience. The fruit has matured into a complex weave of dried and glacéed cherry and pomegranate. This richness is beautifully lifted by warm, sweet spices like cardamom and paprika. Despite its full flavour, it remains gracefully medium-bodied, defined by a stunningly soft, seamless texture and a lacy mesh of assorted tannins that carry the flavours through a long, mouth-watering finish.
