Penfolds Dourthe Cabernet Sauvignon
Since 1844, Penfolds has been grounded in experimentation, curiosity and uncompromising quality. This pioneering spirit still rings true after nearly two centuries and is what has helped them become one of the most celebrated winemakers in the world today. The creation of this limited release Cabernet Sauvignon began as a quest to create something real, different, and aspiringly lofty, together with our trusted partner Dourthe Bordeaux. The French component of this wine was made at two of the Dourthe-owned wineries. Australian components of this wine were made at Penfolds Nuriootpa Winery (South Australia). The French and Australian components were blended and bottled in South Australia. A natural match with lamb studded with rosemary and thyme. Slow braised beef cheeks. Cheese: English cheddar, Grana Padano, Limburger.
Penfolds Magill Shiraz
The single vineyard Magill Estate Shiraz is intrinsically linked to Penfolds beginnings. Sourced from the Magill vineyard on the edge of Adelaide’s eastern suburbs (just eight kilometres from the city’s CBD), fruit is crushed, fermented and matured on-site at the original Penfolds Magill Estate Winery, established in 1844. Magill Estate Shiraz, first produced in 1983, is an elegant, medium-weight style with velvety texture and fine tannins, matured in both French and American oak. It is a sleek, contemporary wine, yet crafted the original way: hand-picked, vinified in open fermenters and then basket pressed to complete fermentation in barrel.
PENFOLDS BIN 707 CABSAUVIGNON LNY
A cabernet reflection of Grange. Full-bodied with proven cellaring potential, the 2019 shows a mid-palate richness with saturated dark fruit flavours of blackberry and mulberry fused with notes of dark chocolate and liquorice.
Penfolds 65F By NIGO Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz
Introducing 65F by NIGO. The iconic Penfolds chimney, re-imagined by NIGO. Inspired by the metal chimney which towers 65 feet over Penfolds Magill Estate Winery, NIGO revived material from our archive to inspire the design. Included in the gift box is a wine tag with a chalk pencil, taking inspiration from the chalk boards in the original working winery at Magill, and a chimney smoke wine stopper as a playful nod to the original purpose of the Magill estate chimney.
Penfolds Bin 98 Quantum Cabernet Sauvignon
Quantum is the continuation of a twenty-year endeavour from when Australian vine cuttings were planted in California soil. A Wine of the World that encapsulates a bold blending alliance, Quantum reveals a wine that shows wisdom, crafted with conviction and embedded in the “quality-first” philosophy that underpins Penfolds flagships. Northern and southern hemispheres bring prized Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley and pedigreed Shiraz from South Australia. Beautiful dark chocolate, blackberry aromas with roasted chestnut, apricot, chinotto, truffle notes. The Quantum is a densely concentrated wine with dark chocolate, dark berries, malty oak, lovely mid-palate richness and fine loose-knit supple gravelly tannins. It finishes firm and tight with a beautiful inky plume.
Penfolds Grange Shiraz 16
Grange is arguably Australia’s most celebrated wine. Crafted with intensely structured shiraz grapes for an Australian style recognised as one of the world’s great wines. With an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951, Grange demonstrates the synergy between shiraz and South Australia.
Penfolds Dourthe Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz
When young, this exceptional shiraz gives plenty of black cherry and dark berry notes laced with savoury spices. A layer of creamy liqueur character adds complexity. Concentrated and age-worthy, expect earthy and chocolate tones to develop over time. A wine built for the long haul.
Penfolds Bin 169 Cab Sauv
Penfolds Bin 169 is a single region wine made to showcase pure Coonawarra characters of cassis and eucalypt. The wine typically shows ripe black fruit characters with vanilla oak, ripe fine-grained tannins framed in a classical structure. Bin 169 is matured in 100% new French oak for approximately 14 months.
Penfolds Bin 149 Giftbox Nappa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Penfolds Bin 149 Cabernet Sauvignon seeks out Northern Hemisphere excellence via meticulous vineyard and block selection, reinforced by flagship-worthy South Australian cabernet sauvignon. The result is distinctive, and of distinction. Bin 149’s name is derived from the percentage of South Australian cabernet sauvignon synergistically woven into the blend. Napa Valley regional sourcing seeks to showcase strong tannic foundations, dark fruit intensity but with the added dimension of a unique “worldly” disposition. Matured in French and American oak, this release highlights Penfolds commitment to quality and winemaking approach.
