Peter Lehmann, icon of the Barossa Valley, has been churning out award winning Rieslings like it's childs play recently. The Wigan Riesling with all its lifted aromatics of citrus and white flowers followed by a complex palate that lingers has again picked up award and award.

A multiple award winner, this gorgeous Barossa Semillon from Peter Lehmann is showing complex aromas of nuts, lanolin, beeswax and honeyed overtones. The palate is fresh with wonderful breadth and lemony/honeyed aged characters. Serving it up to those in the Hunter Valley quite nicely!

Every region has their own hero varieties, and the Adelaide Hills is justifiably renowned for its intensely flavoured and distinctive Sauvignon Blanc.Pale and bright with a green fleck. Subtle citrus, tropical fruit, flint and white florals. Generous tropical fruit entry with hints of guava and grapefruit with fine acidity and talc-like texture. Juicy yet pure and crunchy.

The Chardonnay has a brilliant pale straw hue, the nose has lifted peach and nectarine balanced by subtle toasty char and spice from oak fermentation and maturation. The palate has a rich and creamy texture with flavours of freshly picked white nectarine, rockmelon and hints of lemon citrus finishing with a crisp, dry and lingering acidity balanced with a touch of toasty oak complexity. Medium intensity ruby-red core with a bright crimson hue. Aromas of lifted red cherry and delicious varietal notes of turkish delight and ripe dried fig gained from the Tempranillo. The palate is medium bodied with a bright textural mid-palate possessing a firm grip, reminiscent of the varietal’s spanish roots. The finish is vibrant and bright-fruited with a length of lightly toasted cedar oak notes and savoury dried fruits. Ideal with spicy, rich food. Delightful with a chorizo and prawn paella and saucy tomato seafood dishes. Served lightly chilled in the warmer Spring and Summer months.

The Portrait wines embody the original promise Peter Lehmann made to the growers to make wines that show the true character of the Barossa. Collectively, these wines present a portrait of the region with a selection of the traditional varietals that made it famous. A vivacious wine, with balance and structure, made from dry grown low-yielding bush Grenache and a touch of Shiraz. The colour is a delicate salmon pink with an aroma of early picked raspberries and strawberries. It is a refreshing, dry Rosé style ideal for casual sipping or as an accompaniment to lighter food dishes - served lightly chilled and drink it while it is young and fresh.
