Talisker

Talisker Storm Scotch Whisky

The Isle of Skye is the birthplace of the heralded Scotch Whisky house of Talisker. And it is this island that gives this remarkable and unique whisky its distinctive character. The power of the sea and the inherent rugged location give birth to a dram of complexity, nuance and strength. With a sweet warmth on the nose and front palate that gives way to a briny and peppery finish courtesy of the skilful balancing of differing aged Talisker casks. Available only for a limited time, Talisker Storm is a truly tempestuous single malt.

Talisker 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky

Talisker is one of Scotland's remotest distilleries which produces a dram with trademark smoothness. Their 10 year old has a powerful peat and sea-salt nose; smoky sweetness with malt flavours and developing warmth with a huge, peppery finish. One of the six classic malts of Scotland, this Whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a slight dash of water.

Talisker Skye Scotch Whisky

An easy-drinking style, taking the distillery's classically rugged character and softening it out, while maintaining the smoky and sweet notes the distillery is known for. More approachable, but still definitely Talisker. Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes. It's matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks. Perfect for those who perhaps find the classic Talisker flavour profile a bit too much, not to say that Talisker fans won't enjoy it too. Double Gold | 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Talisker Distillers Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky ( Bottling)

This bottle of Talisker is apart of Diageo's 2022 Distillers Edition. The idea behind The Distillers Edition is to provide an alternative expression of each whisky; to add richness, complexity and interest in the form of a different ‘take’ on that whisky’s attributes. There are seven distinctive Distillers Edition expressions (including Lagavulin, Oban, Talisker, Caol Ila, Dalwhinnie, and more), the remarkable and complex Distillers Edition process, and the people who make it. An incentive to explore The Distillers Edition itself. On the shores of the Isle of Skye, where rugged coastlines meet the raging sea, you find adventure in a bottle. Talisker single malt scotch whisky captures the elemental wildness and unadulterated beauty of its birthplace to give you a taste of Skye in every sip. Looking out over the breathtaking scenery of the Cuillin Hills, Talisker Distillery stands proudly by the sea on the shores of Loch Carport. As the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye by almost 200 years, we have been an integral part of island life and history since 1830. In 1825, the MacAskill brothers arrived on Skye from the nearby smaller Scottish island of Eigg. After several false starts, in 1830 they opened Talisker distillery at Carbost, where it remained the only distillery on the island for nearly two centuries. Through upheaval, changes of ownership, and even a fire, Talisker has always kept Skye at the heart of the brand—and the whisky. As a whisky made by the sea, Talisker shares a deep love for the beauty and fragility of the oceans and is proudly committed to protecting the ocean ecosystem for the next generation of wild spirits. Produced beside the shore of Lock Harport in the jagged shadow of the peaks of The Cuillin, Talisker is the only single malt scotch whisky made on the Isle of Skye. This Talisker has real depth of taste, adding weight and layers of sweet rich flavour to the signature peaty, peppery powder. Magnificent in every way. Talisker’s famous 10-year-old has to be one of the most beloved single malts around. The subtle ageing regime accentuates the Isle of Skye distillery’s distinctive character. Here it’s joined by a dose of sherry from a second maturation in amoroso-seasoned American oak casks with, yes you guessed it, heavily re-charred American oak ends. Just in case you didn’t know, amoroso is a medium sweet style rather like a cream sherry. The nose is salty sea spray, bonfires, and raisin-like sweetness. On the palate there is plenty of peat, backed by sticky dates, peppery spice, and a touch of salt. The finish has drying oak and lingering smoke.

Talisker 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

One of the most seductive, seamlessly integrated and softly textured peated expressions from any island distillery. Since 2011, Talisker's 30 and 25 year old expressions were bottled at 45.8% as opposed to natural strength. Brine and pepper lift gives way to peach and vanilla followed by hints of liquorice and smouldering cedar wood. Exposure emphasises the ripe orchard fruit aspect. Semi-sweet and briny in the mouth with an oily peat and fruit fusion. Finish turns beeswaxy, mildly peppery, (Fisherman's Friend lozenge) and beautifully rounded off by sooty, creamy peat. Text book balance. Talisker at its most accessible? Tasted from a 15ml sample. 45.8% Alc./Vol.

The 2021 Diageo Special & Rare collection is known as "Fables Untold", drawn from some of Scotland’s most interesting, legendary distilleries and curated by Master Blender Dr Craig Wilson, portrays the otherworldly beings which have fiercely protected the heartlands of remote Scottish distilleries for an eternity, according to our ancient fables and the mythical creatures come to life revealing their true characters. This year each bottle has its own unique QR code which, when scanned, takes you on a multi-sensory experience that tells you the story of the whisky, the mythical creature behind the artwork, and gives you some tasting notes to prompt your nose and palate along the way. The Talisker 8 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky "The Rogue Seafury" as the fable goes, on the rugged Isle of Skye stood Talisker, an enduring distillery with a fierce protector of an otherworldly nature: the ferocious Sea Fury. Beneath the smoky, mist-draped surface of the island's dark waters, this leviathan of the lochi lay in wait, keeping watch over its ancient home, imparting the whisky that leaves its shores with its powerful and unmistakably brine-licked character. On Loch Harport's serpentine banks, battered by Skye's merciless winds, Talisker still stands proud against all odds. The powerful landscapes that surround it are eclipsed only by the stories they've inspired - both shaped by the elemental forces of nature herself. But be warned: this is not a dram for any old wandering soul, this is a whisky for the wild at heart-a whisky Made by the Sea. This furious spirit writhes with cereal aromas, soon enveloped by briny seaweed and mountain smoke. The soft oily texture smoothly insinuates itself, carrying forward a bold taste with licks of savoury salt, light sweetness and pronounced smoke. From our most heavily peated reserves, the elemental power of the sea is acclaimed, finishing long and warming. The smoke lingers; this sea-monster breathes fire. A wild-spirited Scotch with a bold and brine-licked character From a selection of the smokiest reserves. Bottled at 59.7% from heavily peated refill casks.
