William Randell is Thorn Clarkes flagship Shiraz named in honour of William Richard Randell, a 19th century family ancestor and distinguished Australian pioneer. A full bodied rich and spicy style with ripe plum and cassis, sweet coconut oak and plentiful grainy tannins, it has the structure and concentration to reward long term cellaring. The Shiraz is sourced from estate owned vineyards in the Barossa Valley. Vinification takes place in small open top fermenters, manually pumped over and then transferred into 40% new American oak for up to 16 months.

Thorn-Clarke's philosophy is that exceptional wines are created in the vineyard and that they are custodians, rather than creators of quality. Six generations of rich viticultural and geological family history has gone into creating this Grenache, which truly showcases the best of the Barossa. A juicy medium bodied wine with vivid red-purple hues. The 2020 Grenache displays a lovely core of wild strawberries and red cherry, with savoury earth and spice supporting the fruit. Flavours of raspberry and cranberry surround the lively spice and savoury elements. A fine and expressive wine with balance and length.
