In 1961, at just 21 years of age, George Fistonich leased five acres of land from his father in Mangere, Auckland and started off with just an acre of vines. George made his first wine under the name Villa Maria in 1962 with grapes harvested from this block. Today Villa Maria is New Zealand's most awarded winery. Villa Maria Private Bin Hawkes Bay Rose 2022 vintage is a beautiful salmon pink colour. The nose has bright floral aromas leading to a palate of red fruits, spice, and strawberries. Villa Maria Private Bin East Coast Pinot Gris 2022 vintage consists of a variety of parcels blended from different vineyard sites across several key regions. The warmer Gisborne region provides ripe fruit with soft acidity and the South Island provides freshness and aromatics. This Pinot Gris has fresh and intense aromatics of pear, red apple and honeysuckle, leading to a rich and textured mouthfeel and a delicious off-dry finish. Pair this wine with seafood, soft cheeses, salads and white meats.

The Villa Maria Chardonnay 2022 is fruit-driven in style, exhibiting ripe peach with underlying citrus and fig characters. On the palate, these flavours are enhanced by a creamy texture and a delicate suggestion of oak. A medium-bodied Chardonnay that is styled for enjoyment upon release with or without food.

Our Earthgarden Organic Sauvignon Blanc has lifted aromas of citrus fruits, lime and grapefruit that leap from the glass. The flavours on the palate showcase fresh herbs, lemongrass and passionfruit. The intense fresh fruit concentration is balanced with zesty acidity and is perfectly thirst-quenching.

The grapes for this Lighter Sauvignon Blanc were harvested from carefully selected early-ripening vineyard sites, enabling the alcohol content to be naturally 25% lighter. This light vibrant wine smells like summer, with a lively palate of passionfruit and grapefruit flavours. Perfect on its own or with fresh summer salads.
