First produced in 1954, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz, grown on amazing terra rossa soil, has been a staple, gracing many a table since then. This iconic Australian label is remarkably consistent. The 2012 offers juicy boysenberry, spice and meaty touches, and a medium-bodied, soft, juicy mouthful is trimmed in ripe tannins.All of our Museum Release wines are kept in a special vault with an environment that is both temperature and humidity controlled. The temperature is set to a constant 14 degrees – ideal for maturing wine. They are then tested regularly throughout the year, with each wine documented, marked for when it should be checked again and released at the optimal drinking age.

Wynns, modestly priced cabernet is very good, in a pure fruit, lighter, more accessible style than Black Label. In the glass its bright and alluring with concentrated aromatics of rose and forest floor, accentuated by subtle dried lavender and white sage. The palate Juicy, lush and generous, layered with dark rich brambles of blackberry, cherry, plumb and moss. According to chief winemaker, Sue Hodder, The Siding Cabernet Sauvignon aims to deliver a leading affordable Cabernet that showcases exceptional varietal and region characteristics of red cherry, mint and dark berry flavours, while an array of gentle tannins will further reward from short to medium term cellaring.

A purposely early harvest to highlight a fresh red fruit spectrum, naturally lower alcohol, wild ferments, and the use of larger oak for maturation are just some of the techniques employed to make these beautiful food friendly wines.

Wynns is in the fortunate position to have holdings of some of Coonawarra's oldest Shiraz vines and coupled with recent plantings in the 1990s, Wynns now have fruit that is worthy of its own place amongst the Wynns elite. Enter Wynns Black Label Shiraz - with a dense, dark nose of pepper, mulberries and distinctive florals that are the perfect gateway to a palate that is rich and complex.
