When Richard Adamson and Oscar McMahon met on opposite sides of the bar, their shared love of beer and music led to a conversation about the stagnant Australian beer scene. Both felt that it should be more adventurous, innovative, and fun. Richard, with his brewing expertise, and Oscar, with his hospitality background, decided to do more than just talk about it. After navigating a maze of red tape, Young Henrys found its home in a modest warehouse in Newtown, Sydney. With a few friends, a small brewing kit, and the maxim to "serve the people," the first Young Henrys beers were brewed in March 2012. Early on, Dan Hampton joined the team as Head of Sales, becoming the third pillar of the Young Henrys crew. Together, they have helped shape Australia’s ever-growing craft beer industry. Philosophy: Although they're growing fast, Young Henrys remains proudly independent and Australian-owned. Classic Crisp is a full flavoured, low carb, mid strength Australian lager made with Aussie malt and an innovative hop product. With under 100 calories and 1 standard drink per can, this is a supremely crispo, clear and enjoyable beer.

Young Henrys Motorcycle Oil is a smooth, hoppy, black beer with mild bitterness, roughly based on a hopped-up American porter. Originally brewed as a small batch in 2017 its back in black by popular demand, bigger and bolder as this years YH Winter release. Best served loud.

Young Henrys Natural Lager is made with 4 natural ingredients: hops, malt, water and yeast. The haziness of it's golden appearance is due to the fact that it was created without filtering, preserving the delicate citrus aroma and taste in the Lager. This is a gentle, easy drinking beer with a dry finish. Best serves cold.

Young Henrys wouldn’t be what it is without Newtown. It’s our home, community and inspiration. So when the suburb celebrated its sesquicentenary and we were invited to brew a unique beer to celebrate, we jumped at the chance. The resulting craft beer was an Aussie Pale Ale called Newtowner.
