Z Wine Rustica Shiraz

Z Wine's Rustica Shiraz is an intense crimson red with purple hues followed by aromas of ripe cherry and red plum which are complimented by hints of pepper and spice with lifted perfumed notes. The palate is warm and full flavoured, displaying generous sweet red fruit, such as cherry, raspberry and plum. These fruits are couple with cedar spice notes and the soft mouth-filling tannins carry the fruit as well as providing structure and length to the wine. This wine is an exemplary example of a lifted, fruit filled Barossa Shiraz suitable for drinking in its youth.

FEIRE Blanc de Blancs Methode Traditionelle sparkling white

The 2019 (Feire) Blanc De Blancs Sparkling was made using an intricate process called Méthode Traditionnelle—the same time-honored approach used to make French Champagne. The Chardonnay fruit was picked early and sourced from the cool climate of Eden Valley, a high altitude sub-region in the Barossa. The freshly pressed juice is immediately settled and cold fermented in stainless steel. The base wine is tiraged and yeast is introduced into the bottle with sugar for a sec ondary fermentation under pressure (which creates the fine bead of bubbles). This wine was ‘En Tirage’ for three years where the secondary characters developed in the wine. It was hand-riddled in 2022 and disgorged in December the same year. The wine is ready to drink, but it will age gracefully for approximately 5 years. This Chardonnay cuvee is the epitome of finesse and elegance. (Colour) Medium straw (Nose) Freshly baked bread with grapefruit and white musk top-notes and mineral undertones (Palate) The Chardonnay grapes are picked early, when sugar levels are lower and acid levels are higher achieving balance and a crisp, flinty taste, on the palate. Since it is a vintage wine that has been aged on lees the complexity of flavours include lemon cream, honey, almond and toast - an impressive flavour profile whilst retain ing freshness and vibrant bubbles. The consistent fine bead is also noteworthy re sulting in a special offering and well beyond your standard Australian sparkling wine. FEIERN Cuvée Noir Méthode Traditionelle sparkling red

(Winemaking) The NV (Feiern) Cuvee Noir Sparkling was made using an intricate process called Méthode Traditionnelle—the same time-honoured approach used to make French Champagne. The blend is Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Barossa Valley floor. The wine spends an average of 24 months in oak and is blended for freshness and complexity – hence the wine being non-vintage for maximum balance of flavours. The base wine is tiraged and yeast is introduced into the bottle with sugar for a secondary fermentation under pressure (which creates the fine bead of bubbles). This wine was ‘En Tirage’ for three years where further secondary characters de veloped in the wine as well as important mouthfeel enhancements from ageing on lees. It was hand-riddled in 2022 and disgorged in December the same year. The wine is ready to drink, but it will age gracefully for approximately 8 years if desired. A stunning Cuvee that is exquisite and complex. (Colour) Deep burgundy with ruby hues (Nose) Primary aromatic fruits of plum, blackberry and black cherry complimented with lifted mixed pantry spice top notes (Palate) Indulgent and full of bold black cherry, plum and blackberry fruit charac ters with complexing pepper, cola, cocoa and mixed spice characters. The sparkling bubbles give a fresh lightness to the bold Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals used in this blend. A delicious lingering finish makes this wine perfect whenever you want an uplift, but it is a personal favourite with smoked bacon for breakfast – a must try! AVELINE Rosé Saignée

History Z Wine (Z for Zerk) is the creation of dynamic sisters Janelle and Kristen Zerk. With over 170 years of Barossa heritage behind them they grew up together in the Barossa Valley on a vineyard that has been in the Zerk family for five generations. Colour Pink Turkish delight, vibrant hues Nose Lifted cranberry & strawberry fruits with hints of musk and rose water. Palate Crisp and dry with an amazing fruit flavour spectrum spanning strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, apple and cherry. Z Wine Hilder Ancestor Vine Mataro

From the sculptural, low yielding Hilder Mataro vines - believed to be 145 year old ancestor vines that have survived two world wars - comes Z Wines' inaugural release of a straight Mataro. This biodynamic vineyard is worthy of producing a single varietal fruitful and earthy Mataro. This minimal intervention wine was hand picked, wild fermented, basked pressed and spent only 8 months in high quality oak, including 20% new French oak. On the nose, herbal notes as well as spice, licorice and leather are evident. The dark fruits (plums and ripe cherry) take a back seat, but positively add to the interesting bouquet. Characters from the nose follow through to the palate, which is balanced and structured. The flavours are dominated by savoury herbal and leathery characteristics with background ripe forest fruits. The chalky acidity and tannins are prominent and very much a testament to the high quality fruit. You will find divine length and lingering flavours.
