CULLEN WINESCABERNET MERLOT
Doctors seemed to dominate the establishment of now-famous vineyards in Australia back in the 1960s and 70s … Lake’s Folly in the Hunter Valley, Mount Mary in the Yarra Valley, and Moss Wood and Cullen in Margaret River among the most famous. Spurred by the eminent scientist Dr John Gladstone’s advice that Margaret River was suitable for high quality wines, Dr Kevin Cullen, with his wife Diana, became one on the pioneers of the area planting grapes in 1971 as well as running cattle and sheep. The area proved the perfect sanctuary for the complete range of Bordeaux grape varieties, and these became the core of the vineyard, with the later addition of Chardonnay. His wife succeeded him followed by their very talented winemaking daughter Vanya. Vineyards have long been certified organic and biodynamic, with the best fruit destined for red and white dedicated to the founding couple – Diana Madeline for the Cabernet blend and Kevin John for the Chardonnay – Australian classics both.
Cullen Wines Kevin John Chardonnay
The Kevin John Chardonnay is Cullens flagship white from their biodynamic vineyards. A refined and elegant style brimming with white peach and citrus, showing bakery nutty complexity and deft oak integration. The wine is named in honour of Vanya Cullens father, the late Kevin John Cullen. Grapes are harvested on a flower or fruit day and whole-bunch pressed to obtain the highest quality juice. It is then barrel fermented with native yeasts in French oak barriques and matured for approximately 7 months in one- third new and two-thirds seasoned oak barrels.
Cullen Wines Diana Madeline
Certified biodynamic and organic. Magnificent pitch black colour with a very deep bright dark red black hue. On the nose a lovely mix of red to black currant and mulberry scents morph into violet, vanillin cedar, dried herb, tobacco, black olive and spicy bay leaf notes. Medium bodied, elegant and superbly structured, the palate features a tightly knit matrix of red to black currant, mulberry and black olive flavours. Bright youthful acidity and an assertive grainy tannin structure provide an iron girder like core. Notions of tobacco, dried herbs, vanillin cedar and spicy bay leaf infusions also chime in. Restrained and understated in its power at present it concludes long and rich yet compact. Cellar 10-20 years. Alc. 13%

Domaine Joseph Colin Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Product Description: One barrel, Grand Cru power—Bâtard-Montrachet with grace and grip. From a single barrel and 50-year-old vines, the 2023 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine Joseph Colin is a rare release even by Burgundy standards. Sitting beside Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, this small plot delivers the full breadth of Grand Cru weight and aromatic precision—but with Colin’s unmistakable mineral signature and restraint. The nose is rich yet composed—burnt butter, dried apricot, peach and citrus backed by spice and faint honeysuckle. The palate is commanding, with smoky stone fruit, citrus tension and salinity that reins in the power. It's a wine of muscle and finesse, tightly wound yet already layered. Made without bâtonnage or fining, and with minimal sulphur at bottling, this wine is bottled directly from its original barrel. Best cellared through 2036 or longer. Serve with the finest shellfish, white fish or creamy poultry preparations. Tasting Notes NOSE – Deep and expressive Burnt butter, dried apricot, peach, citrus and spice. PALATE – Grand and balanced Layered orchard fruit, smoky weight, citrus bite and saline lift. FINISH – Long and harmonious Structured, tense and deeply mineral with refined persistence. Reviews & Accolades “This retains the Joseph Colin hallmark with remarkable tension and a slight salinity, but there is no doubting the intensity that goes with it.” – Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, 94–96 Points “Stellar Grand Cru quality... muscular body which holds the weight well. Just the right acidity and fair length.” – Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, 95–97 Points
Domaine Joseph Colin Saint Aubin 1er cru 'les Murgers Dents de Chien'
Product Description: One of Saint-Aubin’s most serious sites—chalk, cut and quiet power. The 2023 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “Les Murgers Dents de Chien” is drawn from one of the commune’s highest and most esteemed vineyards, perched just above Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet and bordering En Remilly. From this steep, limestone-dense slope, Joseph Colin crafts a Chardonnay of precision, structure and depth. Made with a minimalist approach—whole bunch pressed, no bâtonnage or fining, and only minimal sulphur at bottling—the wine is fermented in 350-litre barrels and finished in stainless for extra focus. The nose is tight and reductive at first, slowly unfurling pear, stone fruit and white flowers. The palate is taut, layered and deeply mineral, finishing long with chalk and quiet power. It's slightly more coiled than En Remilly this vintage, with a similar potential arc. Cellar through to 2032 or decant now to pair with scallops, crayfish or rich poultry dishes. Tasting Notes NOSE – Tight and complex Pear, white flowers, crisp stone fruit and a touch of reduction. PALATE – Focused and layered Seamless citrus and orchard fruit over chalk and almond nuance. FINISH – Long and mineral Concentrated and precise with a lingering, chalky close. Reviews & Accolades “Currently more tightly wound than En Remilly, but should emerge with a similar result.” – Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy, 92–94 Points “Taut and concentrated, with good depth and a long, chalky finish.” – William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 93 Points
