Woodlands were one of the 'first wave' of wineries to set up in the Margaret River in the early 1970s and today that heritage is in the capable hands of Andrew and Stuart Watson, sons of the pioneering David. The Margaret Cabernet Merlot displays aromas of rosemary, leather and spice winding through blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. The palate is a reflection of the nose, and is bolstered by eucalypt, bay leaf and cranberry flavours.

The Inclination Cabernet Merlot is dark crimson in colour with purple hues. The nose has black currants, dark cherries, and plums with a mix of toasty oak. The palate is full-bodied but soft, with flavours of berry, black currant, and plums.

The Napa Valley Chardonnay comes from the coolest regions. In the cellar, techniques such as French oak barrel fermentation and lees stirring are employed, resulting in a Chardonnay that balances the complexity and richness of Napa Valley. 90% barrel fermented and 10% tank fermented, with 9 months of ageing in 40% new French oak barrels. This rich and radiant Chardonnay leaps from the glass with enticing aromas of nectarine, lemongrass, pear blossom and caramelised pineapple. The citrus and stone fruit layers are echoed on the silky palate where flavours of white peach, lemon zest and vanilla flow to a bright and zesty finish.

A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot, it is an elegant yet powerful example claret with depth of flavour. 2022 Horizon de Lynch is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Intense purple in colour, with aromas of toasty cedar, dark plums, and liquorice. Fine tannins round out the silky finish - a great example of a modern and highly drinkable claret.
