Cabernet Sauvignon

Duck Duck Bull 'Wee Bully' Wrattonbully Cabernet Blend

"From the Wrattonbully region, this is a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The colour is a deep red and we have aromas weaving through notes of warm earth, bay leaves, milk chocolate, blueberries and smoked meats. There are dusty tannins and juicy acidity here, in a wine of medium length, but with a pleasantly lingering finish. This will provide most attractive drinking…. 91pts " (Ken Gargett, WinePilot).

Swell Season Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon

The mission of 'Swell Season is to produce elegantly expressive wines from organically grown fruit. All their vineyards are 100% organically certified. This is a "stylish and complex" (Wine Orbit) Margaret River Cabernet with 93pts. "Stylish and complex, the inviting bouquet shows blackcurrant, dried herb, game and nutmeg aromas, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate delivering richly textured mouthfeel, backed by chalky tannins, making it sturdy and structured with a lengthy, engaging finish. At its best: now to 2036.93pts" (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit).

Willow Bridge Coat of Arms Cabernet Sauvignon

Aromatic dark fruits of mulberry and black plum. A complex and layered palate of primary mulberry and blackberry supported by black olive and dark chocolate with the gentlest hint of toasty french oak. Estate grown from the spectacular hillside vineyard in the Ferguson Valley of the Geographe wine region, fruit is sourced predominately from the Blinman block which was planted in 1998. Soil is typically a deep layer of ironstone gravelly loam over red and yellow friable clay with slight westerly aspects at elevations of 220 to 250m above sea level. The Coat of Arms is an expression of the deep dark fruit characters we attain from the Ferguson region, rich and smooth with lashings of chocolate, entwined with secondary characters of oak and black olive. Winemaking technique enhances the aromatic and flavour profile of the varieties whilst maintaining a long fine tannin structure. Maturation adds further layers.

The Waxed Bat Reserve

"Big and gold, lots of chocolaty plum fruit, cassis, tobacco, liquorice. An extremely polished effort" (Decanter World Wine Awards). The legendary Opi Sadler has triumphed again! His Waxed Bat Reserve edition had taken Gold and Platinum medals, then Best in Show Trophy at the highly prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards. That was beating 17,000 other wines from around the world. Perhaps it should be of no surprise when we know it has so much intense ripe black fruit and creamy oak. It clearly shows that Malbec and Cabernet from Argentina's high altitude Mendoza region is a match made in heaven. Even better when the wines are aged in barrel, too. It's a sumptuous mouthfilling red, smooth enough to drink solo but at its very best with garlic studded roast lamb, a juicy steak or a warming casserole. Decant early if you can.

Knappstein Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The wine displays a complex aroma of lifted violets, red berries and mint with lovely cedary oak. The palate is brimming with rich plums, blackberries and subtle chocolate and earthy notes. The intense flavour is balanced by fine sandy tannins and spicy vanillin oak.

Mountadam Five Fifty Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon

Located in High Eden, a sub-region of the Barossa, approximately 550 metres above sea level, Mountadam was originally established in 1972 by the late David Wynn for his winemaking son Adam. Since 2005, it has returned to being a family owned and run winery, with David and Jenni Brown overseeing its success. With Phil Lehmann, the son of Peter Lehmann, as chief winemaker, they are going from strength-to-strength. High Eden’s chilly heights lead to harvests up to a month later than those in neighbouring Eden Valley. The result is gorgeous Cabernet like this, full of dark fruit and chocolate.

Claymore Wines Black Magic Woman Clare Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine defines charisma! Juicy plum and dark cherry fruits combine with licks of mint and fennel that overlay a slatey-granite earthiness. It’s a deep, dark, dangerously intense Cabernet with integrated tannins and dense dark fruits wound up in savoury spice. The wine show judges and critics are consistently awarding the Black Magic Woman Reserve Cabernet Gold – again and again and again!
