High Sands Grenache is the flagship of the Yangarra winery. Its made with 100% Grenache and sourced from gnarly old bush vines that were planted in 1946 and situated at the highest altitude in their vineyard. The wine is intense, complex and expressive of type and place.

The Rozas 1er cru Garnacha is, as the name says, classified premier cru by Comando G. Elegant and poised, this wine is a step up in classification and altitude, sitting above the Rozas Villages vineyards close to the ceiling beyond which growing grapes isn't really viable. The brick-red tinge to the colour bring Langhe to mind, Nebbiolo specifically, and there are more hints of that in the glass. The colour and the approachability owe a lot to the greater presence of silt midst the layers of granite. For the 1er cru, the vines are older, the soils are lighter and the altitude of the vineyard is higher than the village showing that signature highwire Sierra de Gredos/Comando G acidity.

The wine displays vibrant spice, pepper and mace behind dark cherry fruits. Soft palate with extremely precise and thin tannins that caress the palate and carry on with freshness and intensity

Sulphite Free... Harvested at night to prevent oxidation, winemaking process avoid the use of SO2 to keep the freshness and protect the aromas of the grapes. Fermentation is based on natural yeasts and is maintained at a temperature of 28°C (82°F) to preserve the fruit aromas in the wine. This CDP wine features a dark ruby garnet color with violet reflections and a subtle lightening at the rim. The bouquet is nuanced with herbal spices, smoky minerality, fine dry spice notes, and black berry fruit accented by thyme and sage. Hints of saddle leather and undergrowth add complexity. On the palate, it is powerful and complex, with flavors of blueberry jam and black cherries supported by ripe, rounded tannins. Notes of candied violets and black truffles emerge, leading to a firm, long finish with a touch of animalistic spice. This wine has definite aging potential.
