Wine is a vibrant dark plum red colour with brick brown hues.On the nose a subtle white pepper and spicy berry fruit bouquet is rich and dominant. On the palate the lifted aromas follow through and complement the balanced structure of fine tannins, ripe berry flavours and a lean elegant finish. The fruit flavours fill the full length of the palate. This medium to full bodied wine will cellar for at least 8 years under the right conditions and combines beautifully with lamb, mild curry dishes or our favourite, Osso Bucco.

While almost all Australian Merlot in the bottle is made from one clone, this wine is made from a parcel of clones that are new to Australia. MERITE Merlot is a multi-clone blend that is built to showcase the qualities of these newer clones such as fine tannins and vibrancy. Our 2019 Merlot Single Vineyard has flavours of red currants, plum and dried herbs. An elegant red wine for the cool season. Tasting Notes Mid ruby red colour Intense red plum and raspberry aromas on the nose, with tobacco-like complexity. Medium body, suppleness, plump mid-palate. Red fruit flavour with hints of dried herbs. Finishes with fine, soft tannins and subtle oak.

Lifted red and black cherry notes, silky tannins and underlying oak influence balance this classic Coonawarra Merlot. Matured in new and seasoned french oak barrels enhancing the complexity of flavours. Drink now or will reward careful cellaring for up to 8 years.

This wine is made to authentically represent the attributes of this clone when done well: aromatic, jewel colours, naturally bright acidity, structure and body and vibrant fruit flavours.

Château Latour à Pomerol is one of the leading Pomerol properties and - while unclassified - one of the great crus of the Gironde. Latour à Pomerol consists of just under 8 hectares of vineyards split into two plots: the first is known as Les Grandes Vignes and is located on a gravel outpost next to the Church of Pomerol. The second plot lies on sandy, lighter soils and is to be found on the western side of the Pomerol plateau. Latour a Pomerol's grapes (90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc) are hand harvested and then fermented in temperature controlled concrete vats. The wine is then matured in small oak barrels (50% new) for 18 months. It is bottled unfiltered. Latour á Pomerol produces sumptuous, meaty, concentrated and full-bodied Pomerols that often require at least 10 years of cellaring. In the context of other top class Pomerols they remain underpriced.

In the glass: Medium to deep red black. On the nose: Full of bright red cherry with hints of red olive and fine oak spice. On the palate: Quite a jubey and appealing red fruit core giving long and silken flavours that are generous and classy. Fine oak gives subtle support throughout. Lovely now yet with good mid-term potential.
