Tasting Impression: Elegant, mineral with silky tannin

Morra Gabriele Langhe Rosso Memorie DOC

6500 bottles produced. Foravia was born as a game and as a challenge, to demonstrate how much fun you can have with Nebbiolo. The aim was to obtain a less tannic, less powerful, less austere Nebbiolo, which could also be drunk eating fish. They decide to make it with 60% of the whole bunch, and this is where the real challenge lies. A Langhe Nebbiolo Foravia, which in fact in Piedmontese means "outside the rules"; whole bunches, selection of those with woody stalks. “In the lignified stem there is potassium. What does potassium do? From roundness to wine”. And as soon as you taste Foravia everything is immediately clear. For the fermentation, with partial carbonic maceration in an open tank, they use cement; the refinement takes place in small exhausted wood for 8 months. Aromatic bouquet for a wide sip of wild small red and blue fruits, and crunchy.

Fontanafredda Langhe Nebbiolo

When young, Fontanafredda Langhe Nebbiolo features a fragrance which is wonderfully spontaneous and full of surprise. In its bouquet, colour, and generous, velvety body this wine brings out all the typical qualities of the grape it is made from. Later in life, its colour becomes garnet-red with strong orange shades, and its nose deepens, with traces of withered flowers, such as rose and above-all geraniums. It's warm, soft, well-bodied flavour is velvety and well-balanced, lingering in the mouth.

Michele Chiarlo Nebbiolo Il Principe

Michele Chiarlo was founded in 1956 by the sole and present owners, Michele and Giuseppina Chiarlo. Son of over seven generations of esteemed wine growers, Mr. Chiarlo is today one of the most respected producers of the fine wines of Piedmont and a leading figure in its viticultural industry. The Principe is produced with the grapes from the Nebbiolo hills in the Langa area and has been left to refine in large vats for a year. Notes of violet, red fruits and elegant fine spices. Harmonious, with good structure, the presence of fine tannins and a good round finish.

Orlando Abrigo Valmaggiore Nebbiolo

Orlando Abrigo Valmaggiore Nebbiolo dAlba Light, ruby red colour with a refined bouquet of rose, spice, and berries. It shows a full-bodied and mineral palate with an elegant yet persistent finish. The fruit (100% Nebbiolo) is sourced from the renowned 2ha cru of Valmaggiore, situated on very sandy and rugged hills which means that all work in the vineyard must be carried out by hand, without the aid of tractors or other machinery.

Rivetto Langhe Nebbiolo

An extremely pleasing and drinkable wine, and although it has a high alcohol grade this never overpowers its fruity character. Its red colour has Bordeaux reflections and the slow trickle from the edge of the glass confirms its optimal concentration and good body. The palate is caressed by a smooth tannin content typical of the Nebbiolo grape and by a warm and enveloping flavour.

Pizzini La Volpe Nebbiolo
