Very fruity on the palate, with fine acidity and medium body

Classically pale in the glass, Nebbiolo is a deceptive and beautiful wine by Pizzini. The nose is all allure and seduction with classic, deep rose petal perfume, plenty of anise-scented spice and bright red fruits. The palate's deep, juicy and mouth-filling red cherry and plum flavours run on sturdy tannins, laced with liquorice and finishing bright.

Grown in the vineyards of Cascina Valmenera, the heart of our estate. We call them “our stairway to heaven”, to quote Led Zeppelin, because the rows are laid out in an amphitheatre that seems to climb up into the sky. They were planted at the end of the Nineties and enjoy south-westerly exposure. Here, in the sandy marl of what was once a seabed, Nebbiolo is able to fully express elegance and vigour. Michele Chiarlo was founded in 1956 by the sole and present owners, Michele and Giuseppina Chiarlo. Son of over seven generations of esteemed wine growers, Mr. Chiarlo is today one of the most respected producers of the fine wines of Piedmont and a leading figure in its viticultural industry. The Principe is produced with the grapes from the Nebbiolo hills in the Langa area and has been left to refine in large vats for a year. Notes of violet, red fruits and elegant fine spices. Harmonious, with good structure, the presence of fine tannins and a good round finish.
