Pinot Noir

Felton Road Block 3 Pinot Noir

Felton Road is responsible, to a large extent, for putting Central Otago on the world Pinot Noir map. The wines are, well not so much fruit-driven, as perhaps turbo-charged! Amazing levels of red fruits, a subtle yet important savoury component, along with the silky texture all Pinot enthusiasts long for. This single-block wine shows how different portions of a single vineyard can still have a quite unique character, or what the French would call terrior.

Valli Waitaki Vineyard Pinot Noir

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru

Brothers David and Nicolas Rossignol run this 100% Organic and Biodynamically farmed Domaine located in the very heart of Gevrey Chambertin. Very early to the Sustainable farming movement, all the family's vineyards, located in some of the most impressive vineyards in Burgundy, were converted to Certified Organic in 2004.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Vosne Romanee

Pierre established his own domaine from vineyards he inherited from his family. Since then he has rapidly become a star in the Cote de Beaune and is now considered one of Burgundy’s top producers. His choice to use larger demi-muid barrels and eschew the use of battonnage, makes each one of his bottlings a clear expression of its terroir and a study in mineral-driven Chardonnay. As scary as it may seem, with each new vintage his wines seem to get better and better. This is not only one of the top domaines in Chassagne-Montrachet, this is one of the greatest winemakers and domaines in the world.

Hartford Court Lands Edge Pinot Noir

The fruit for Hartford Court’s Land’s Edge Pinot Noir is sourced from two estate owned Vineyards: the Far Coast Vineyard and the Seascape Vineyard. These vineyards are located high on the Sonoma Coast Ridges that run along the ‘land's edge’ and the Pacific Ocean. The Far Coast Vineyard is the predominant component of Land’s Edge – typically making up 90% or more of the blend. The Far Coast part of the blend brings Mocha notes to the nose, and a deep black cherry profile while the Seascape Vineyard part of the blend adds savoury notes along with hints of salinity to the Land’s Edge Vineyards cuvee.

Littorai Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir

Faiveley Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru

Shaw & Smith Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir

Domaine Jean Louis Trapet Gevrey Chambertin Ostréa

Jean-Louis Trapet is an articulate man, at peace in a world where "men are mere mortals, and since wine is all about sharing and transmission, his great-great-grandfather's legacy, founded in 1870, has been kept alive. Today he takes care of 15 hectares of vineyard, among the best-located in Gevrey. He is merely the custodian of this treasure: three grands crus (Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Latricières-Chambertin), two premiers crus (Petite Chapelle and Clos Prieur), Marsannay and Bourgogne. Since 1995 the entire domain uses biodynamics: free of any harsh practices in the vineyard as well as in the cellars, which respects the natural balance of the wine. This approach is above all based on observation: to protect the vines while monitoring their growth and development. Maturating is a decisive stage at the Trapet domain: once the vinification is finished (with minimum intervention), the wines are taken down to the cellar and put in barrels to mature slowly over the winter months at their own speed. The Gevrey-Chambertin Ostrea from Trapet comes from four parcels, one of which has the oldest vines in the domain, each chosen for their terroir's characteristics. This blend has a unique geological and climatic identity which produces a dense wine.

Mumm Central Otago Pinot Noir (6 )

Crafted in collaboration with Pernod Ricard Winemakers, the wine was aged for 16 months in French oak, with half of the barrels new. The result is bold yet composed: dark cherry, blackberry and savoury spice layered over polished tannins and refined oak. This six-bottle set offers a compelling lens into Central Otago’s distinctive energy, equally at home in the cellar or alongside duck, venison or earthy mushroom dishes. Tasting Notes NOSE – Dark and spiced Black cherry, blackberry, and plum layered with savoury undergrowth, baking spice, and hints of vanilla and mulled orange. PALATE – Rich and textured Plush dark fruits carried by fine, silky tannins, with oak spice adding structure and depth. FINISH – Long and polished Lingering, textured, with intensity balanced by regional freshness. Reviews & Accolades “Rich and full in the mouth with amplitude and lovely velvety softness… weight, intensity, texture and persistence… oak is well handled.
