Sangiovese

Rocca Di Montegrossi Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino

This Chianti has complexity, elagance but most importantly - a sense of place. The wine has developed a rich garnet hue on account of the bottle age. The nose is robust with flavours of dried cherries, plums and vanilla jumping out of the glass. You get some lovely tertiary flavours on the palate too with leather, mocha and earthiness all enveloped with the acidity of a wine half its age. This can be enjoyed straight away and you will not be disappointed but will also reward some more years of cellaring.

Bibi Graetz Testamatta Tosc

The 2020 Testamatta by Bibi Graetz marks a new chapter with a blend of Sangiovese from both old and new vines, emphasizing cooler growing conditions and northern exposures. In response to climate change and a quest for elegance, Graetz has incorporated grapes from a new vineyard near Fiesole. This breezy, high-elevation site contributes 30-35% of the fruit, imparting beautiful clarity, sharpness, and a lifted bouquet. The result is a vibrant, transparent, and fresh wine with notable acidity and aromatic intensity. Testamatta is evolving, making it a wine to watch.

Giodo Brunello Brunella Di Montalcino DOCG Sangiovese

The Brunello is a wine of immense presence. It commands you from the first sniff; both grape material and vintage show their full class. This wine spends around 30 months in large casks (500-700 litre) followed by additional time in concrete before resting in bottle for a further 18 months.

Castello Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG

The Castello Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2021 is a remarkable wine from the Tuscan region of Italy, produced by the esteemed Marchesi Mazzei. In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red hue with violet reflections, indicating its youth and vibrancy. Upon swirling, aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries emerge, accompanied by hints of spices and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a well-structured, balanced acidity. Flavors of red and dark fruits are complemented by notes of oak and a subtle earthiness, leading to a long, lingering finish. This vintage is a true representation of the traditional Chianti Classico style, showcasing the best of Sangiovese grapes. Enjoy now or cellar for a few years to witness its full potential.
