Sangiovese

Brancaia Il Blu Rosso di Toscana IGT

The Il Blu Rosso IGT Toscana is the flagship wine from Brancaia. This is a modern expression of that revolutionary wine, the Super Tuscan. It is made to show what Brancaia is capable of producingan elegant, complex, and intense world-class wine. A blend primarily of Sangiovese and Merlot (a little bit of Cabernet in there too), the vintage dictates which variety takes the reins. Il Blu is a swaggeringly contemporary Super Tuscan, balancing power and elegance with the slightly skittish energy of a thoroughbred. Power and layer upon layer of concentrated fruit wild herbs and spice. A modern classic.

'superlative Brunello across...'- Ned Goodwin MW These elements are maximised in tank for the first fermentation before articulation across a phalanx of traditional Slavonian wood during extended periods of ageing: 24 months for the DOCG Brunello. Rocca Di Montegrossi Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino

This Chianti has complexity, elagance but most importantly - a sense of place. The wine has developed a rich garnet hue on account of the bottle age. The nose is robust with flavours of dried cherries, plums and vanilla jumping out of the glass. You get some lovely tertiary flavours on the palate too with leather, mocha and earthiness all enveloped with the acidity of a wine half its age. This can be enjoyed straight away and you will not be disappointed but will also reward some more years of cellaring.

Mastrojanni Brunello di Montalcino
