Sangiovese

Castello Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG

The Castello Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2021 is a remarkable wine from the Tuscan region of Italy, produced by the esteemed Marchesi Mazzei. In the glass, it presents a deep ruby red hue with violet reflections, indicating its youth and vibrancy. Upon swirling, aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and blackberries emerge, accompanied by hints of spices and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a well-structured, balanced acidity. Flavors of red and dark fruits are complemented by notes of oak and a subtle earthiness, leading to a long, lingering finish. This vintage is a true representation of the traditional Chianti Classico style, showcasing the best of Sangiovese grapes. Enjoy now or cellar for a few years to witness its full potential.

Giodo

Giodo Brunello di Montalcino DOCG The Brunello is a wine of immense presence. It commands you from the first sniff; both grape material and vintage show their full class. This wine spends around 30 months in large casks (500-700 litre) followed by additional time in concrete before resting in bottle for a further 18 months.

Giodo La Quinta

Giodo La Quinta Toscana IGT La Quinta comes from younger vines (7-12 years old) and spends 12 months in 700-2500 ltr oak barrels. It is a brilliant wine; if ever there was a wine with the Carlo Ferrini stamp on it, the La Quinta would be it. Its vibrant, pure and elegant; it is the pure essence of Sangiovese.

Biondi Santi Annata

Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva

This Riserva is a true work of beauty. It is released one year later than usual. The wine reflects the natural heft and power of the 2012 vintage, and it also shows that distinctive open-knit and accessible personality that characterizes this warm and sunny growing season. Il Dottore's magic touch is revealed in the level of fine detail and precision that transcends vintage, grape and territory. This Brunello pours from the bottle with a magnificent garnet color, and it evolves in the glass with dark fruit, candied orange peel, spice, licorice, anise seed, cola and balsam herb. The aromas are magical and ethereal, albeit slightly ripe and soft as expected of this vintage. 97 points: Wine advocate.
