Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 750MLx6

The structure of Cabernet Sauvignon meets the richness of Shiraz. A benchmark Penfolds wine and one of the most collected wines in Australia. Evocative barrel ferment character, red currant, cranberry, wild cherry, vanilla and exotic spice ensure the wine is true to style. Fine tannins and acidity ensure length and vibrancy. The perfect wine to mark the moment, big or small.

Torbreck Runrig Shiraz Viognier

As usual, the 2017 RunRig is approximately 2% Viognier. It spent almost 30 months in oak, 40% of which was new. Hints of peach or apricot appear on the nose, alongside notes of hickory smoke, cherries and baking spices. It's full-bodied and concentrated but supple and silky enough to seem lighter in the mouth, showing tremendous length and elegance on the finish, where it adds nuances of cinnamon and cocoa. Rating: 98/100.

Lights Valley Barossa Valley Colonel Shiraz

Lights Valley wines commemorate Colonel William Light and his discovery and naming of Barossa Valley in 1837. Barossa Valley was named in memory of the British victory over the French in the Battle of Barrosa in 1811. However, due to clerical error the valley was misspelt Barossa. Tasting Notes: The Colonel Shiraz displays notes of black fruits, olive and restrained oak. With a fine tannin structure ensuring the palate has great depth, this is a classic Barossa Shiraz.

Penfolds RWT Bin 798 Shiraz

Langton's Classification: Outstanding

The result is a wine that helps to redefine Barossa shiraz at the highest quality level.Peak drinking: 2022 - 2050

Curtis Family Vineyards Octavian Shiraz

McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate and diverse soils contribute to the wine’s complexity, allowing the Octavian Shiraz to showcase ripe blackberry, plum, and mulberry notes, often complemented by undertones of dark chocolate, liquorice, and a subtle savoury edge. The palate is typically smooth and structured, with velvety tannins and balanced acidity, ensuring both immediate drinkability and cellaring potential. The influence of French and American oak adds depth and gentle spice, while the careful winemaking approach preserves the fruit’s purity and regional character.

Kay Brothers Amery Block 6 Old Vine McLaren Vale Shiraz

Kay Brothers Block 6 Shiraz is a very powerful, concentrated cellaring style with plenty of fruit richness, chocolaty tannins and underlying malty oak. The 1.6 hectare Block 6, which forms part of the Kay Brother's larger 22 hectare Amery Vineyards, was originally a pumpkin patch of old bush vines. The Block 6 fruit is batch vinified in three to five tonne traditional open fermenters originally built by the Kay Brothers in 1895. Some parcels are hand plunged while others are fermented under header boards. At completion of fermentation the wine is drained and basket pressed into a combination of one third each new, one year old and two year old American and Eastern European oak. Maturation takes place for around 18 to 24 months before assemblage and bottling under screw cap.
