Chardonnay

Lehmann Chardonnay Dozen

"Zonte’s Apple Betty Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is its most prolifically exported white wine, but happily for our readers they have enough locally to offer this crisp, juicy chardy as part of this week’s special offer case… It’s an all-Chardonnay line-up, also including the 2022 Coppabella Sirius Tumburumba Chardonnay ("…delivers poise and sophistication") and which rates 94 points (and a Gold medal) from Wine Showcase Magazine, and Bleasdale’s Adelaide Hills Chardonnay ( "…luscious, leap-from-the-glass aromas that are almost tingly fresh") that usually retails at almost $40 a bottle. Alongside those two is the Josef Chromy Marchington Tasmania Chardonnay ("yellow nectarine and apricot, subtle florals and a hint of tropicality") – and the whole case costs just $27.99 a bottle – discounted by almost 30%.

Allinda Yarra Valley Chardonnay

Tasting Notes: Pineapple, nectarine and lime aromatics along with lengthy butterscotch and biscotti flavours. A well-structured wine to be enjoyed from now to 2020.

Hungerford Hill Tumbarumba Chardonnay

Hungerford Hill is a premium Hunter Valley winery, but they have a long history of making prestige wines from NSW's cool Tumbarumba region. This one shows the region's cool, crisp, citrus and nectarine rich style off to perfection. So much so that it won Gold AND the Trophy at the Canberra Wine Show! Now that's impressive!

RedHeads Harmonie Rox Chardonnay

RedHeads aren't shy of creating a stir, all in the name of top winemaking. And Harmonie Chardie really rocks! Since starting off in 2002, Redheads have blazed a trail to become one of Australia’s leading sustainable cellars – masters of small-batch, eco-friendly winemaking. They've won 8 trophies and over 200 Golds for their wines, including two for the debut release of Harmonie Rox. All the grapes come from grower Jack Bursten’s unique Coonawarra vineyard. It was originally planted by the late, great Wayne Stehbans – twice winner of Australia’s most prestigious wine Trophy, the Jimmy Watson. So he knew a thing or two about growing top grapes! And it really shows in the wine. Fermented in part new French oak, it's creamy, spiced and fruity.

Lost Farm Tasmania Chardonnay

Richard Angove was very lucky to have grown up in a winemaking family. Since 1886, five generations of his family have worked in winemaking and grape growing. In 2008 he worked harvest in the beautiful Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania. He just loved the landscape, vineyards and flavours of the wines. Many years later when the opportunity arose to work with a number of small growers to create a range of small batch wines, he could not resist the opportunity, and so Lost Farm Wines was born.
