Clotilde Davenne Chablis Vieilles Vignes
CLOTILDE DAVENNE Chablis Vieilles Vignes Chablis is a superb winegrowing region entirely dedicated to Chardonnay. Clotilde Davenne Chablis comes from the village of Courgis, right next door to her winery in Prehy. Pale in colour with hints of green, the Chablis Vieilles Vignes offers a nice freshness and aromatic nose of fresh fruits, white flowers and dried fruit. The mineral aromas, of flint in particular, make it sing.

Pressing Matters Chardonnay
Product Description: Cool-climate precision meets old-vine depth. Pressing Matters Chardonnay 2022 comes from the Coal River Valley, where small parcels of fruit are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed before a slow, wild-yeast ferment in French oak barriques. A quarter of the barrels are new, bringing gentle texture without overwhelming the fruit. The vineyard’s history is woven into the wine. The earliest Chardonnay vines were planted in 1990 at Morningside, with more recent additions in 2020 extending the estate’s range of clones. This mix of heritage and new plantings underpins a wine that balances bright, natural acidity with layers of stone fruit, citrus zest and finely judged oak. It’s a contemporary Tasmanian Chardonnay that speaks clearly of site, season and thoughtful winemaking. The Maker Two families brought together from a love of wine supported by a passionate and talented team. Greg Melick and wife Michelle founded Pressing Matters in 2002, inspired by the potential of the neighbouring Morningside Vineyard to produce the noble European varieties of Riesling, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Cabernet. The first vintage was in 2006.Greg's love of Mosel and Burgundy wines inspires Pressing Matters but Greg’s role as father and grandfather are his proudest achievements. Not long after, the opportunity to unite the Morningside vineyard with Pressing Matters saw the Hall family join the Melicks as partners in late 2019. A friendship formed from a love of burgundy and holidays shared in the family home in Meursault now fuels the next stage of the Pressing Matters story. Significant investment in a new winery, tasting room and general infrastructure and new plantings are some of the first steps of the partnership. Philosophy At Pressing Matters, the philosophy is simple: allow the land and the fruit to speak for themselves. With a focus on low intervention, the winemaking process is designed to highlight the purity of the fruit and the distinctiveness of the Coal River Valley terroir. By using a range of Riesling clones and managing vine density to maximise flavour concentration, Pressing Matters produces wines with true character and balance. Their approach is reflected in the four levels of sweetness they offer, each crafted with precision to cater to different tastes while staying true to the spirit of Riesling. The R9 Riesling, dry and vibrant, encapsulates this commitment to producing wines that are both exceptional in quality and perfectly suited to the local environment. Pressing Matters continues to push the boundaries of what Tasmania can offer, creating wines that are fresh, zesty, and unforgettable.
