Their aim is to “craft small batch wines of quality with bold character.” The wines are made by the legendary Ben Riggs, so that’s a creed that will be easy to live up to. Their gorgeous Chardonnay certainly shows lots of lavish fruit on a cool, crisp palate. Medium-weight in structure, you’ll find refreshing apple, stone fruit and citrus flavours. The fruit was whole bunch pressed and fermented in old French oak barrels. Left on lees for six months. Perfect for lunch with poached chicken and a Waldorf salad.

This 'secret' release is not only from New Zealand's premium Hawke's Bay region, but vineyards very close to some of the region's finest estates. It's joined by a 92pt "Beautifully fruited and inviting..." star from Gisborne, and a 91pt Marlborough beauty rated from the esteemed estate of Jane Hunter, whose string of accolades for her work, includes an OBE and Companion of the NZ Order of Merit for viticulture. This lovely estate Chardonnay was given a ranking of 'EXCLELLENT' by Mark Henderson, in the Otago Daily Times, July 2024 who praised its: "Fresh & inviting nose, peach and stonefruit notes lead, a touch of toffee/caramel and a light seasoning of oak that lets the fruit shine.
