Racy and elegant with stunning purity; its mixed citrus and white floral notes combine brilliantly with a smoky edge to the fruit. Theres serious intensity and structure driving through the wines pulpy core. The balance, extract and length are all class.

Grand Cru Cuvée du Kalimeris Corton-Charlemagne Driven by a predilection that deems the sum far greater than its individual parts, Laurent Ponsot has blended across plots on this venerated hillside, all Grand Cru, to deliver a masterpiece. The essence of the terroir, as he sees it. Loads of toasted nuts, nougatine and the inflection of lemon oil, yellow plum and lime curd that so often defines the finest Corton-Charlemagne. A confluence of precise mineral vibrato and almost unctuous power, melded as a curvaceous whole of thrilling length. Make no mistake, this should be buried in the cellar.

GinGin. A clone from California, perhaps, but a wine with all of the hallmarks of the Jura. Golden to the eye with an open, slightly oxidative nose (think cashew nuts). Juniper berries and alpine wild flowers with a fresh, rounded texture. Born in the Piccadilly Valley not far from Swaby geographically, made identically in the winery, but ultimately continents apart stylistically. 100% Piccadilly Chardonnay, handpicked, wild-yeast fermentation, whole bunch pressed to barrel, some bâttonage, 10 months in 25% new French oak, unfiltered and unfined, only 50 dozen made.

The grapes for this wine were grown on clay and limestone soils in the south of Burgundy. The old-vine vineyards here, planted in the late 1950s, are elevated at between 250m and 500m and provide this wine with both maturity and freshness. The grapes are hand-picked and gravity processed as whole bunches before cold (8°C) fermentation. Most of the wine (60%) is aged on lees in second and older-use oak barrels (Allier) for 15 months with some lees-stirring. 'This is high-end Pouilly-Fuissé, and the vineyards, which total 4.2 hectares, are ideally situated in the shadow of Roche du Solutre. The domaine was purchased in 2017 by the Parinet family of Château du Moulin-à-Vent. (The wines) are very fine expressions of white Burgundy, with lovely texture and mouthfeel.'
