This is a classic cool-climate medium bodied Australian Shiraz made from our best close planted Shiraz block with approx 4,444 vines per hectare compared to the usual Australian 1,850 vine per hectare all with of focus on high quality low yielding vines allowing the fruit characters to come to the fore. Hand-picked, small batch fermentation and maturation in French oak barrels for approx. 20 months has produced a wine with spice and ripe fruit, white pepper, cloves, cedar, orange peel, blackberry and a combination of strongly savoury and sweeter berried flavours developing into an extremelly interesting wine.

This is a beautiful cool-climate style Cabernet Sauvignon that has gotten better with age and is now coming into its own in terms of style and drinkability. Hand picked and fermented in small open fermentres and then maturation for close to 20 months in French oak barrels has produced a lovely medium-bodied wine with all the clasic Cabernet characters of blackcurrent, red capsicum, roasted nuts, tobacco leaf and bouguet garni with fine tannins.

A perfect vintage for white wine in the region the fruit for this wine was perfectly ripened giving us a wonderful balance of flavour and natural acid all coming together to show how intense and complex this blend can be, I think this might even impress the Borderlaise fraternity.

This barrel fermented SBS has spent 9 months in French oak lending a sophisticated and harmonious element to this complex yet delicate blend which is reminiscent of the whites from the Graves Region in Bordeaux. Fresh, fragrant and elegant in style, the palate is lively and direct with layers of stone fruit and minerality and only a little toastiness lingering on the very long finish. A serious SBS blend and one to educate your customers.

Grown not too far from our own vineyard, this bright cherry red medium bodied wine displays a slight perfumed spiciness with hints of white pepper. Carefully balanced with 25% new French oak, wonderful fruit characteristics and gentle tannins, this is a wine that will reward patientcellaring.

The refreshing lightness of body along with the burst of sweet and spicy red berry flavours of the indigenous Sicilian frapatto grape are irressistable. Notes of sour and black cherries, sweet spice and other red fruits draw you in. This is a fresh and fruity red best consumed in its youth.

2015 ’Pantelis’ Cabernet Sauvignon The Pantelis Cabernet Sauvignon is our signature wine and bears the name of the family patriarch. Pantelis Zachopoulos (1927-1998) immigrated to Australia from Greece in 1966 with his wife Olga and four children. His diverse agricultural knowledge was passed onto his children Michael, Nicholas and myself [Zissis]. In 1998 a few months before his passing we purchased and began establishing our vineyard in the Barossa Ranges. I decided to make this wine in his honor as a token of our appreciation for everything he has taught us. The wine has dark rich fruits, plum and blackcurrant with a touch of typical Cabernet herbaceousness on the nose. The palate is long and full with lovely dark chocolate, Mocca and cassis favours.
