New: Follow the prices of your favourite wines
Do you buy wine often? Prices change regularly and you can save HUNDREDS by buying at the right time. Midday Somewhere tracks wine prices for you and takes away all the guesswork.
Prices at online liquor stores change regularly and you can save hundreds by buying at the right time. But unless you keep on top of daily price movements, it’s difficult to know the perfect time to buy.
I’m very excited to announce that Midday Somewhere now features a brand-new system that automatically follows daily price movements of wine. Each day it tracks every wine, every vintage and every price combination and tells you the best way to buy. It also graphs daily price movements so you can see how today’s prices compare.
Here are just a few examples of the hidden bargains to be found:
- Pierro Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is a distinguished and super-elegant Margaret River cabernet merlot, with exemplary length and aftertaste. It is normally priced around $70 per bottle. Two weeks ago, the price dropped to $34.20 a bottle in cases of 12 – that’s half price!
- Mount Mary Quintet is Australia's premier cool climate Cabernet blend and Langton’s has awarded it the very rare “Exceptional” classification. The price of the 2008 vintage dropped from $171 to $109 – a saving of $62 per bottle!
- Petaluma Chardonnay is a delicate yet modern cool climate Adelaide Hills chardonnay. The 2011 vintage is rated 95 points by James Halliday and today the price dropped from $48.88 to $35.15 in any six. The price changes erratically but this is the lowest it has been in months. Get in quick before the price rises again.
- Wolf Blass Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Malbec is a multi-award winning wine and each vintage is normally rated 96 points by James Halliday. The price of the 2006 vintage (also rated 96 points by James Halliday) has dropped from $135 to $94.
The Midday Somewhere home page shows today’s best deals and the list changes each day. If you’re looking for a particular wine, enter the name into the search box at the top of the page and you’ll be able to track its price movements instantly.
If there are wines you regularly buy, consider becoming a member of Midday Somewhere. As a member, you can follow your favourite wines and receive notification via email when they drop in price. Membership is free, and emails are sent every Thursday at midday.
In addition to wine, Midday Somewhere tracks the prices of spirits, beer and cider, and other liquor retailers will be included in the near future.
Happy shopping!
