Blue Rock Wines 2015 Eden Valley Cabernet SauvignonThe cool hills of our Eden Valley vineyard has produced a Cabernet Sauvignon of intense colour and rich flavour. This is an Australian Cabernet in a Bordeaux Style (Fruit driven with softer tannins). It has characteristic dark fruits, cassis and mocca chocolate aromas and flavours. The wine is further complexed by smoky, toasty and vanilla characters introduced by 24 months of ageing in American and French Oak. This wine will cellar well during which time the tannins will soften even further and developed fruit characters of chocolate and coffee will become more apparent.

Producing only genuinely Estate wines, Greenock Creek is the lifelong labour of Michael & Annabelle Waugh. These wines are typically full of intense Barossan power, often paired with the heat to boot. Sourced from the finest vineyards of the renowned Barossa Valley and using traditional winemaking techniques, our wine is a classic representation of the region - luscious, fresh and generously flavoured. This exquisite deep red Cabernet Sauvignon has abundant aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant with underlying spice notes. Full and generous dark berry fruit across the palate leads to a soft french oak finish and smooth, fine tannins. Lovingly crafted to be enjoyed matched with all your favourite cuts of meat, the rich full body will partner exceptionally well with grilled lamb with a sprinkling of mint.

Pure cassis, freshly sawn cedar, green olive and violet aromas are well matched to spicy oak. It is then dry, juicy and sinewy on the palate – taut fruit matched by significant but fine tannins all in a medium-bodied style. It finishes with supreme length which with immaculate balance promises long aging potential.

This is the debut release of Spinifex Grenache Gris, and it's a wine that we should all be very excited about. When Pete Schell purchased the Dominion Vineyard in 2018, they quickly set to work planting varieties they believed suitable to this unique path of land, including the scarce Southern Rhone white variety Grenache Gris. This marks the first official release of this wine, and it's a beauty. The fruit spent a few hours on skins, before fermentation in old oak puncheons, followed by eight months’ maturation on lees in foudre. It's packed with glorious white and yellow fruits, with some creamy texture from the winemaking influence, and a pithy, salty finish that pulls it all together. Great with food or on its own, and a statement about the suitability of this variety to the Barossa Valley.

Kaesler have had their Semillon vines in the ground since 1960, and in that time have made some truly wonderful wines. The now Old Vines produce wine of intensity, focus, character and sheer drinkability. Cut grass and citrus, green apple and lemon curd, it is drinking beautifully now and will improve over the short term.

Winemaking: Gentle pressings were combined with free run juice and cold settled. Fermentation commenced in stainless steel but some of the Marsanne and Viognier finished fermentation in and was aged in barrel until bottled in early August. The remaining Marsanne and the Roussanne were aged on lees in a tank until bottling, to enhance the structure and texture of the wine. Colour: Attractive pale straw. Nose: Aromas of stone fruits, honeysuckle and Asian spice. Palate: Medium bodied with good texture, mouthfeel and balanced mineral acidity. Flavours of nectarine, pear, mandarine and Asian spice give to make it for good food pairing, possibilities from seafood to white meat.
