Aged for 23 years, this Whisky was distilled the year that Dr Bill Lumsden (the Cask Master) first joined Glenmorangie. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks and Oloroso Sherry casks then finally finished for more than a decade in prestigious Margaux red wine casks. The colour deep auburn undertones, the nose is full-bodied and rich, with hints of creamy popcorn and toffee apples, with nutmeg and toasted bread adding layers, followed by cinnamon and cloves with hints of chocolate. The addition of a few drops of water brings out the characteristic citrus and vanilla of Granger, and brings out the honey and toasted fruit, covered with more milk chocolate.
