Sam Trimboli LOVES Durif. He calls it a “stunning little powerhouse grape that develops astounding complexity”. The numberplate on his car even sports the word ‘Durif’, that’s how highly he rates it. The grapes for this wine come from a small vineyard that Sam helped establish in the 1980s and is now at peak maturity.

Bright crimson. Bright red fruit and cherry ripe. Plumy ripe fruit and maraschino cherry teamed with lovely fine tannins.

This wine is perfumed with red berries on briar, cedar and dusty earthy notes. The medium bodied palate contains sweet and sour flavours of red currants. These flavours combine with dusty tannins to result in a long and tight finale.

Today, his legacy sees the Nugan family established as one of Australia’s most successful agricultural enterprises. This wine is a tribute to his vision and the passion he instilled in his family. Sourced from the Frasca’s Lane Vineyard in Victoria’s cool climate King Valley. Ripe aromas of cherry with hints of mocha, dark chocolate and earth followed by a savoury palate of spicy plum and raspberry with well-integrated tannins.

Fruit was sourced from the De Bortoli-owned Shelleys Vineyard on the eastern edge of the Rutherglen region, and 2021 provided a superb vintage.Deep, dark red. Savoury, earthy & rustic aromas of tobacco, forest floor, dark berries and herbs. Sweet fruit & oak entry in a juicy & fleshy style with red plum, roasted tomato & oregano, long tannins & balanced oak. A jubey young-drinker.
