The De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate is situated in the north-east corner of Victoria, one of the most progressive and diverse viticultural regions in Australia. A renowned Rutherglen sparkling blend, this rich, brooding and fruit driven wine is a wonderful addition to any celebratory occasion. Vibrant red and purple hues framed by soft persistent bubbles. Youthful and fresh with an inviting mixed berry and chocolate aromas, and flavours with a creamy mouthfeel and plush finish. The wine has a balanced residual sweetness with supporting tannin that adds complexity and length.

Coal black with magenta at the rim; complex aromatics swirling in and out, making it devilishly hard to do justice to with words. Initially the floral and heady notes of fresh earth, pepper, ripe dark plums, wood smoke and spice show: then dark and moody notes of stems, briar, black olives and vegetable extract emerge. One minute it's flighty like a violin, the next deep, mellow and brooding like a cello. The notes that play on the bouquet follow on the palate. Powerful dark plum fruit, spiced and savoury, is drawn by finely tuned tannins and acidity. This wine manages to combine depth and complexity whilst delivering a gentle footprint. Made from Muscadelle grapes, this wine has spent an average of 12 years in oak barrels, giving it complex flavours of honey and malt which combine to deliver a full flavoured wine with a sweet but clean finish. Ideal for after dinner.

Peter Graham worked at Beechworth icon, Giaconda for 13 years. Now out on his own, this new venture not only shows his skillful winemaking but captures the essence of the region and the reason its so renowned. Balanced, peppery, has good power and lots of smoky, meaty tannin, showing blueberries, blackberried and black cherries.

Bright crimson. Bright red fruit and cherry ripe. Plumy ripe fruit and maraschino cherry teamed with lovely fine tannins.
