Durif originated in the Rhône Valley of France, but has been grown in Rutherglen for over a century. Its a variety that tends to make rather bold wines, like this beauty! Deep red black. Super-rich black cherry cola with iodine and prune. Palate equally intense with lashings of inky dark plum, prune and dark cherry, satiny and rounded mouthfeel, espresso-like tannins and plenty of charry oak. Sweet, rich and ripe.

De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate Sangiovese

Fruit was sourced from the De Bortoli-owned Shelleys Vineyard on the eastern edge of the Rutherglen region, and 2021 provided a superb vintage.Deep, dark red. Savoury, earthy & rustic aromas of tobacco, forest floor, dark berries and herbs. Sweet fruit & oak entry in a juicy & fleshy style with red plum, roasted tomato & oregano, long tannins & balanced oak. A jubey young-drinker.

De Bortoli Rutherglen Estate Shiraz

The mouthfeel is soft and balanced with well ripened dark berry fruits combined with spice and fine grainy Shiraz tannin. The oak is integrated into the wine and completes the front palate of fresh berries, chocolates and spice.

The Chambers family have been making fortified wines in the world famous region of Rutherglen for more than six generations and it shows. Some of the finest, not to mention affordable, fortifieds being produced anywhere in the world. A true Australian icon.

Chambers Rutherglen Muscat

Brilliant clarity, deep orange-gold colour with strawberry highlights. Fresh intense varietal aromas of Turkish Delight, musk, tea rose, vanilla, soft sweet spice, fruitcake, raisin, sultana, dried berries, and quince paste finishing with a subtle lift of spirit. Rich and flavoursome layers of fruit, extending those found on the nose (raisin, musk, dried plum, quince, vanilla and spice). Youthful, luscious finish with gentle warmth from spirit. Small yields of flavour packed fruit from Rosewoods aged Muscat à petits grains vines are aged and blended with other years to bring out the clean, fine fruit characteristics of this old favourite. Its young, cherry, caramel and coffee flavours can be savoured with, or in place of, dessert.

Chambers Old Vine Muscat Non-Vintage

Raison, and rose petal aromas with dried fruit and a hint of wood age. Palate of rose petals, fruit cake and raisons, fresh and lively with youthful primary fruit characters evident. Well balanced palate which is clean and fresh with a drying finish. The solera has been the recipient of barrels from the Rare Muscat solera, emptied but not washed so influence coming from remaining wine in the bottom of the barrels; not as much influence imparted as in the Old Vine Muscadelle situation. Tawny colour with a slight reddish/ brown hue on the edge. Founded in 1858 by William Chambers and situated just one kilometre west of Rutherglen, on the Corowa road. The original vineyards which were replanted after phylloxera attacked the area in the late 1890's now have some irrigation, and produce low tonnages with wonderful concentrated flavour. Rosewood's fifth generation winemaker Bill Chambers OAM, handed over to son Stephen in 2001. The proud tradition of winemaking continues from the rich old fortified wines made in the early 1900s by great grandfather Will Chambers who started off the wonderful Tokay and Muscat blends which today are renowned throughout the world. The Rare Muscat and Rare Tokay consistently receive perfect, 100 out of 100 scores from the influential wine writer Robert Parker Junior of the Wine Spectator who refers to Bill as the "Master of the Fortified wine business of Australia".

Chambers Grand Muscadelle Non-Vintage

Deep walnut-gold, with slight copper and dark olive hues. Wonderfully intense and complex bouquet with rich layers of wood-age characters and faint hints of fruit. Characters of coffee, dark chocolate, walnut, black tea leaf, cardamom, nutmeg, raisins, dried orange rind, dried paw-paw, dried pears, orange peel, and treacle. Goldman WInes Alpine Valleys Shiraz

The fruit for this wine was sourced from Con Mara Vineyard in Whorouly South, Alpine Valleys, Victoria. The 3t of fruit was picked in early March and taken back to Beechworth for processing. The wine spent nearly 14 months in 4 x new 500L French Oak puncheons and has yielded a more full-bodied style than the 2013 vintage. This received a gold medal at the North East Victorian Wine Challenge; 94 Points Halliday Wine Companion, 92 Points The Wine Front; and 4 Stars in Winestate.
