For the Old Vine Reserve by Seville Estate, the Pinot Noir is purely sourced from the original 1972 plantings. The block is one acre and produces low yields (1-2 tonnes/acre) of small berries and bunches. The colour is deep especially for Seville pinot with a slight hazy pale purple hue. The wine is beautifully perfumed and bright with strawberry red fruits, spice, slightly gamy with earthy tones. Darker fruits on the palate with multi layered characters of red fruits, savoury whole bunch, nutmeg spice and smoky bacon. The wine has great length and natural fruit tannin that is nicely balanced with the acidity and oak.

Feudo Pignatone Rosso Davanti Casa is created from a selection of Nerello Mascalese grapes from ancient vines grown organically on the contrada (an ancient estate usually aligning with an historic lava flow) of the same name in the municipality of Randazzo on the northern slope of Mount Etna at an altitude of approximately 700 metres. The grapes used for Feudo Pignatone Rosso Davanti Casa come from hundred-year-old vines. The bunches are meticulously selected in the vineyard, followed by the separate vinification of every single parcel so as to produce a wine reflecting the identity of the terroir and the contrada. A wine full of energy, with a rare elegance and finesse, and excellent scope for development over time.

In 1904 a co-operative winery called Ai Vino Delle Langhe was founded and a young man who worked there was Alfred Prunotto. Prunotto took over the estate in 1922, giving it his own name and today it is run under the umbrella of the famous Marchesi Antinori family. Located in Alba the estate tends around 50 hectares of vineyards throughout the Langhe and Monferrato. This Nebbiolo is garnet red in colour with ample and complex aromas of violets and berry fruit, full and velvety in flavour and very balanced. Its structure and body make it an ideal match for meat and game dishes and for cheese.
