Deep in the heart of Chianti in Italy's beautiful region of Tuscany lies Frescobaldi. Made from Sangiovese with a touch of Merlot to soften the palate, the wine displays bright cherry and red berry fruit with a well balanced savoury backbone of earthy spice.

A veritable summer pudding of fresh macerated berries and perfume spice, dominated by wild strawberry and Campari-like cherry smells. This outstanding red wine is a quite recent expression of Argiano's viticultural potential in relation to red wines made with Sangiovese. Solengo, which is Tuscan for one wild boar, is the product of the combination between Tuscan soil and French grape-varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Syrah. It is the fruit of the creation of the internationally acclaimed former oenologist Giacomo Tachis, which now continues with the work of Argiano's team.

Madrugador means 'early riser' in Spanish, a reference to the early ripening Tempranillo variety. It makes a delicious partner served with lamb cutlets! “This is fruit forward and inviting with dark plum, blueberry, rich floral and warm spice aromas on the nose, leading to a generously weighted palate offering succulent fruit intensity backed by fine, grainy tannins. Brooding and powerful on the palate, lashings of dark fruits, licorice, sour cherry and cedar. Bright, crunchy acidity and grippy, granular tannins round the wine out very nicely. 92pts".

Rich plums, tarry leather, cedary oak and a long dry finish. An utterly delicious full bodied wine. Perfect with pan fried scaloppini.
