Château Pétrus is one of Bordeaux's most important vineyard sites, lying on the easterly edge of the Pomerol appellation bordering Saint-Émilion. Although wines of Pomerol have never been classified, it is widely recognised that Pétrus is the most outstanding wine of the appellation, if not the entire Right Bank. Almost always made entirely of Merlot, the 2009 is one such vintage which is 100% single varietal. The perfect vintage conditions have provided the expert team at Pétrus the ideal opportunity to provide with a wine that comes as close to perfection as humanly possible. Stunning concentration and complexity run through the entire palate that is remarkably ready to drink today, yet will live comfortably in the cellar gathering further intense flavours and aromas for the next 20 to 30 years.

France's Bordeaux, is the spiritual home of the Cabernet family of grapes, which extends beyond Sauvignon and Franc to Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. If you love Margaret River Cabernet blends, or indeed the Merlot dominant reds of Hawkes Bay, NZ, then you must look at the wines upon which many of them have been modelled. This wine is Cabernet and Merlot, deep and rich, cassis and earthy cedar, structure and uncommon length - all hallmarks of Grand Cru Bordeaux.

The 2021 vintage of Chateau Cheval Blanc Saint Emillion from the renowned Château Cheval Blanc in France is a delight for the senses. This wine exudes a deep, ruby red hue with hints of purple, giving it a regal appearance. On the nose, one is greeted with an array of rich aromas such as blackberry, cherry, and cassis, elegantly intertwined with notes of vanilla, oak, and a subtle hint of spice. The palate is equally impressive, with a full-bodied and velvety texture, showcasing flavours of dark fruits, chocolate, and a touch of earthiness. The tannins are well-integrated, providing a smooth and long finish. This Saint Emillion is a true representation of the craftsmanship and terroir of France, and will surely leave a lasting impression on any wine connoisseur. Enjoy now or cellar for years to come.
