Grapefruit pith, yellow apple and almond aromas. Light-bodied yet very expressive with a bright mix of white and yellow fruit, an underlying nutty layer, mouth-watering acidity and a touch of talc-like grip.

An elegant wine displaying stone and orchard fruit flavours melded to a core of cashew and fig, all balanced by a seam of fresh acidity. 50% of the wine was fermented and matured in a combination of new and 1 year old French Hogsheads with partial malolactic fermentation, giving texture and complexity, the rest in stainless steel, to retain freshness.

The name ‘Alluvius’ derives from the well drained, ‘alluvial’ soils found in vineyards planted close to river beds. These soils are renowned for growing Semillon as it leads to a unique expression of what is considered to be Australia’s greatest white wine style. Pure Semillon aromas of lemongrass and lime articulate the nose of this classic Hunter Semillon. The palate is intense yet elegant displaying mineral texture with great line and length. Poured into a glass, this Chardonnay from Hunter Valley displays a bright lemon to lime colour. A swirl of the glass reveals white peach aromas that are enhanced by a gentle touch of cashew nut. As a whiff of the wine is followed by a sip, upfront peach and melon flavours impress you, that are held together by tight acidity. Consume this wonderful white wine within 2 to 3 years from vintage.
