Jack West is a name that rings big and bold, just like the character of these wines. Every grape used to craft this wine is grown by brothers John and James Lienert in their vineyards on the Barossa's western ridge. Here, the broad blue skies, long sunny days and famed terra rossa soils allow big flavor and solid structure to develop naturally. This is a flavoursome and generous wine, made in the vineyard and hitting the mark for those seeking classic Barossa reds.

Grapes for this Shiraz are sourced from our growers in the Barossa Valley. The well ripened grapes are carefully destemmed and crushed to fermenters where they are macerated in a way to minimise extraction of hard tannins. All providing a rich and generous nose and mouthfeel. This is achieved with less vigorous maceration and lower fermentation temperatures. Maturation then takes place with American and French oak before blending and bottling. The grapes for our Shiraz come from our loyal growers throughout the Barossa Valley. Soils, site and viticultural practices vary but the one common factor in these vineyards is the unmistakable generosity that shines through in the wine.

The Barossa is an area rich with history and wine has been a way of life since 1842. An area abundant of fertile soils, a diversity of culture and religion, the Barossa's landscape is still distinguished by many Lutheran church steeples.We honour this history with Old Kirche, an exquisite representation of a classic deep red Shiraz with aromas of dark berries, cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Bright flavours of plum and red currants, hints of toasty oak and a velvety, voluptuous fruit filled palate with a finish of silky tannins.

Announcing itself with a indelible signature this is Barossa Shiraz that is larger than life. Its bold and full- bodied delivering layers of red and black fruit flavour, hints of oak, spice and a concentrated finish.

AROMAS Lifted dark fruit characters of plum and boysenberry, complimented by notes of red cherries with hints of black liquorice and cedar oak. TASTE A full bodied wine, with sweet fruit flavours of dark cherries and plums, and dense chewy tannins that finish chocolatey and smooth on the palate. At Grant Burge wines, we challenged ourselves to come up with the most vibrant and impactful wines possible. The result was Ink.Juicy fruit palate with juicy black fruits. The palate is moderately weighted and balanced with fruit sweetness with a perfectly matched soft structure that finishes clean and fresh.

The Wise Wolf Shiraz is a brightly fruited and richly weighted wine with outstanding texture. It is a magenta red with lifted florals and red fruits on the bouquet accompanied by a sweet, fruity palate complimented by cinnamon and vanilla.

Deep crimson in colour, this Barossa Shiraz is beautifully complex yet approachable. Juicy plum and forest berries mingle with light vanilla oak and cocoa, framed by smooth tannins. Perfectly cellared, it’s drinking wonderfully now and pairs effortlessly with hard cheeses or hearty meat dishes.

Head Wines was started in 2006 by Alex Head. It focuses on single site Rhône varietals from the Barossa and Eden Valleys in South Australia. Head Red is a barrel cull from Barossa vineyards including 'The Blonde', 'The Brunette' and The Contrarian single vineyard Shiraz wines. It allows a pre-view of the vintage quality to come and keeps the quality of the Single vineyard wines as high as possible. The wine receives 12 months barrel age in predominantly older French hogsheads allowing the vintage and terroir to show clearly. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
