The breathtaking estate of Tenuta di Arceno lies in Tuscany's Chianti Classico region, where wine has been made for nearly 3,000 years. It is mostly dedicated to Chianti Classicos signature grape, Sangiovese. While this Chianti Classico is unmistakably Tuscan in origin, it offers a level of depth, power, and concentration that is rare for its classification. The fruit, mostly Sangiovese, comes from some of the coolest blocks of the estate, which accounts for the wines vibrant acidity. The dominant flavors include plums, earth, cherries, licorice, dried herbs and cedar.

Occupying some of the more elevated land in the Canberra District, Quarry Hill produces a Shiraz with ripe flavours and excellent natural acids; the hallmarks of great cool-climate Shiraz. Aged in a mix of new and older French oak, the wine is bright purple in the glass, follwed by aromas of raspberry, plum, spice and a little pepper. Through the palate, there are flavours of mulberry and plum, fine tannins and a crisp, dry finish.

Bay of Fires Pinot Noir is always produced is such limited quantities, you need to get in quick to secure some. It isn't hard to see why Tasmania is quickly gaining a reputation as one of Australia's greatest cool-climate Pinot regions with wines like this Bay of Fires Pinot Noir. Showing ripe cherry, spice and leafy tones with soft, velvety tannins to complete the stylish package.

Mount Majura, from the emerging wine region of the Canberra District, considers Tempranillo as their flagship variety. With a dense core of dry savoury tannin, interwoven with fleshy cherry and blueberry fruit, and embroidered with a host of aromas, from sweet spices and pomegranate, to malt and leather.

Made from Sangiovese, this is a wine of great personality. Dusty tannin and earthy spice are balanced with some red fruit characters and mouth-watering acid that cries out for something rich and hearty to be eaten with it.

Exotic aromas of smoked meats, dried red rose, allspice, clove, dark plum, dark cherry ,blackberry, mulberry, mandarin, violets, sandalwood, bay and funky undergrowth. This aroma really revs me up, it continues to evolve as time goes by. This wine is alive! Complexity, poise, sinewy acid, fine tannins wrapped around a sleek core of pristine dark fruit. Martinborough is considered by many as the home of Pinot Noir - not only in New Zealand but the 'New World' in general. It is hard to argue when wines like this are produced. Pinot Noir superstar, Larry McKenna, hand-crafts a wine that is overflowing with perfumed black, red and green fruit flavours that are all in harmony with the mid-weighted palate. Textured oak and fine-grained tannin give a nod to the fact that this wine will age gracefully for a decade or more. A stunning benchmark.

There is no doubting the quality of Northern Tassie Pinot. This is a fine example from the Tamar Valley has elegance, length and varietal flavours of plum and cherry balanced by a touch of oak and light astringency.
