Happs Preservative Free Red offers up a Margaret River excellence that doesn't disappoint. A mix with Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Merlot and Grenache all combined. This is lifted with red fruits including cherry, strawberry and dark fruits as well as some charry oak. The palate is youthful and fresh with some savoury characters as well as intense berry fruit that dares you to have another glass.

A deep crimson red which opens with the classical Margaret River nose...fresh varietal notes of bright berried fruits, briar and sea spray, followed by wafts of chocolate and mocha with subtle spiced oak aromas. A medium to full bodied palate shows cassis and Satsuma plum characteristics, leading into the sweet mid-palate depth of chocolate and mocha, finishing with defined talents. The wine is elegant and shows great length of flavour and well-structured palate line. This medium bodied and elegant wine is a blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced with a small percentage of classic varietals. Gentle extraction is achieved by the draining of wine from the skins and returning back over. The wine has remarkable mid-palate fruit flavour and richness while still showing the freshness, fineness and acidity for which Margaret River Cabernet is renowned.

This is a complex, compelling wine with dark plums and ripe anise-like spice on the nose, silky tannins and understated oak nicely completing this moreish Shiraz.
