Cellar 13 Barossa Grenache is a modern Grenache that proves old vines can learn new tricks. Just like the Cellar 13 shed, this Grenache proves that its whats on the inside that counts. A racy palate of vibrant red fruits, with lovely ripe varietal characters with a hint of rose water. Fine dusty tannin from grape skins combine with slight stalk tannin to deliver a fine medium bodied wine with persistence.

An interesting blend from the Barossa that is sourced from two vineyards - the Grenache adds spice and lift while the Tempranillo adds savoury characters and texture to the palate.

This 2020 vintage sources its grapes from a very small plot of elegantly aged and interesting vines in the Barossa sub-region of Ebernezer. Crafted by Head Winemaker Nick Badrice, the Krondorf Stone Altar Grenache is all about precision and focus; with concentrated aromas of black cherries with intense earthy and aniseed character leading to a palate of bramble and spice with freshly cut fig, lovely freshness and structure from subtle notes from new and seasoned premium oak barrels. A blend of 72% Grenache, 22% Mataro and 6% Shiraz matured in French oak for 10 months of varying ages. Deep dark red core with black shaded edges and a vibrant red hue. Spicy dark raspberry and red liquorice aromas mingle with fresh herb, graphite and pepper notes. Juicy dark raspberry, liquorice and dark cherry fruits flood the mouth with scorched earth and peppered herb elements lying underneath.
