Fraser Gallop Cabernet Sauvignon

A high quality wine from the first whiff of the bouquet through to the long finish...has a tapestry of flavours from the base of Cabernet...all supported by persistent but ripe tannins, the oak absorbed by the fruit. Winning the prestigious Decanter International Trophy, we snaffled as much of this wine as we could. Very limited.

Howard Park Scotsdale Cabernet Sauvignon

Beautiful fruit sourced from Mount Barker has gone into this excellent stylish and elegant cabernet. Deep, dark and inky; a complex black olive bouquet, with a very rich, powerful and heady mix of cassis, cedar and a little violet thrown in for good measure. Excellent firm structure threads through the controlled intense and balanced palate. A little astringency on the finish. Plenty of blackcurrant and savoury plum flavours with a touch of cedary oak. Cellar 6 years.

Cape Mentelle Shiraz

Margaret River is an under appreciated region for Australian Shiraz, and it's hard to see why with Cape Mentelle's Shiraz showing a vibrant core of blueberry, mulberry and hints of raspberry. It is well balanced with cocoa and savoury oak. The palate yet, is fine, elegant and focussed, finishing with chalky and structural tannins.

Sandalford Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Sandalford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is simply put, a sensational wine! Complex on the nose with violets, tomato leaf, cigar box and spice, it is beautifully structured on the palate, with rich fleshy fruit filling out the tannin backbone.

Rosabrook Margaret River Single Vineyard Estate Tempranillo

Deep purple in colour this wine is lifted and spicy. The palate does not hold back, deep, spicy potpourri and abundant tannins will see many years reward.

Iron Cloud Rock of Solitude Purple Patch GSM

There are only a few wineries nestled in the rolling hills of Geographe, but they are producing some lovely wine, as youll discover in this classic GSM. In the glass: Deep, dark red purple. On the nose: Inky dark berry fruit with notes of toasty oak and iodine. On the palate: A core of plum and mulberry tempered by fresh herb and stalk notes, hints of vanillin oak and juicy acidity.

Cullen Cabernet Merlot

Cullen, world famous for their Diana Madeline Cabernet Merlot, have introduced another Cab Merlot, a distinguished offshoot of the Langton's classified Diana Madeline. Majority Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot and touch of Petit Verdot gives the wine a luscious, bright cherry flavour with red berries playing their part. Aged in French oak, 40% of which was new, for one year. Delicious to serve with veal, lamb or beef today, but will also reward up to 10 years in the cellar.

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Langton's Classification: Excellent

'Black Label' Cabernet Sauvignon, which was first vintaged in 1954, has evolved markedly over the decades. It is arguably Australia's most recognised Cabernet Sauvignon, and has more than any other, helped define Coonawarra. The wine is matured in new and seasoned French oak for 12 to 18 months. A classic Coonawarra Cabernet with pristine dark berry/ cassis aromas, fine grained tannins and underlying savoury nuances, it develops into a rich, chocolaty wine with age. In a super vintage, this wine can look astonishingly like a 2nd or 3rd growth Bordeaux with its pure cassis aromas and cedary complexity. St Johns Brook Margaret River Reserve Shiraz

Aromas of bright boysenberry, blood plums and liquorice. Classy oak adds mocha and spice to palate that's bursting with luscious fruit. Medium bodied with soft tannins and a lingering finish.

Thompson Estate Cabernet Merlot
