Theres a little whole-bunch fermentation prior to 12 months in a mix of old and new barrels. There is a measure of Old Vine Grenache to lighten up the classic Barrosa Valley Shiraz richness.

The name of this outstanding wine, 'The Holy Trinity' symbolises the Burge family's migration to the Barossa in the 1850's. The family, the vines and their faith created a tradition of winemaking that has continued for five generations. This wine also pays homage to the Barossa, encapsulating the three traditional red varieties of the Barossa - Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre. Under guidance of head winemaker Craig Stansborough, the three varieties come together to make a complex and flavour filled red.

Chateau Tanunda was established in 1890 and is the site of some of the First vines planted in the Barossa in the 1840s as well as the Valleys first winery. The grapes for this Cabernet Sauvignon are from select rows of our Eden Valley vineyard. This wine displays deep, rich purple and red hues. The bouquet has lifted aromas of blackcurrant,bluberry and spice on the silky smooth palate with hints of cedar and mint.

Palate: On the palate, this medium-bodied wine unfolds gracefully, showcasing luscious, sweet fruits alongside dark generous offerings that speak to its three-varietal composition. Pink pepper adds a light spiciness over brambly fruit notes. The Grenache component lends tension and elegance, contrasted by the generous heartiness of Shiraz and complemented by the earthy undertones of savoury Mataro. Well integrated slatey tannins craft a structure that is both firm and approachable, while balanced acidity ensures the wine's freshness persists through each taste. This fine mature tawny is made from the Barossa’s traditional tawny varieties, Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz, and has been blended to an average age of a 10-year-old wine. This exhibits a sweet and mellow palate with developed fruit and oak tannin characters.This tawny wine is assessed and re-blended into a solera-based system, enabling us to consistently release wines of such high quality. Only a strictly limited quantity of 10-year-old tawny is drawn from the solera for bottling each year, and the barrels are topped up with selected younger wine.
