Molasses-based and made using both pot and column stills at the Fiji Distillery, including local Fijian sugar cane, the liquid was first aged in the tropical climate in bourbon casks for three years, then sailed to the southwest of France for twelve months finishing in French oak. Nose : Intense, it starts on molasses, pear and varnish. It then becomes fruitier and spicier on apple, banana and gooseberry, also nutmeg and vanilla with a hint of smoke. Palate : Rich and round, it follows the nose with vanilla fudge, honey, ginger and fruity notes of prune and coconut. Finish : Very long on dried banana, bourbon and allspice. Black Barrel is a unique small-batch, hand-crafted rum created to commemorate the 310th year anniversary of Mount Gay. Like all their rums, double-pot and single column distillates are aged separately in whiskey barrels until they reach maturity. The Master Blender then mixes a higher proportion of double distillates to create this special blend. Aged again in deeply charred bourbon barrels (hence the name), adding a rich complexity and a warm, smooth finish.

Solera 1893 and Reserva high quality rums have won many worldwide awards for their intricacy, profundity and signature sweet flavour.

A fresh and light rum with an image of youth, of vibrant nightlife, of joyous modernity. A modernity of taste and image that hides more than a century of tradition. Ron Millonario 10 Aniversario Reserva is presented in a bottle with transparent cap and a label which echoes the traditional design of the classic 15 Reserva Especial but graphically renewed and with a modern colour scheme. Warm amber in colour, it has an easy and never aggressive nose. Candied oranges, bergamot tea, vanilla and a hint of cola nut are its main aromas. At the palate, its lighter and fresher than the older expressions: mainly it tastes of chestnut and acacia honey, candied oranges and citrons and sultana raisins. Slightly hidden, but still evident, are nuts, chocolate, desiccated plums and apricots. Only at the end a peppery sting from the alcohol becomes just noticeable.
