Product Description: A bold step into still wine from a house defined by sparkling. Mumm Central Otago Pinot Noir 2022 is part of the Terroir Collection, created by G.H. Mumm in collaboration with Pernod Ricard Winemakers. It is the house’s first still release from New Zealand, sourced exclusively from the Lowburn sub-region of Central Otago, where schist and gravel soils meet sharp diurnal shifts to yield Pinot Noir of intensity and clarity. Hand-harvested fruit and precise winemaking—including 16 months in French oak with 50% new barrels—give this wine both muscular depth and polish. With its rich fruit, savoury layers, and fine tannins, it channels Central Otago’s bold character while remaining refined and ageworthy. Notes of dark cherry, violets and spice dominate the nose. Palate: The palate is full and structured, yet elegant with flavors of luscious dark cherry balanced with a fine mineral acidity. You are greeted on the nose with suggestions of bramble and spice, gradually opening up to reveal red and black berry fruits, spice, leather and subtle floral notes.The palate is soft and supple, with cranberries and sweet red berry fruits upon entry. Fine silky tannins entwine a concentrated core of juicy black cherries, dark berry fruits, dried herbs and cocoa before trailing off to a long even finish.

The aroma is very floral and complex offering ripe pear, dried herbs and flint. There is excellent fruit weight and texture on the palate, where the full ripe pear flavours lead to a fresh, spicy and long finish. Our Pinot Gris is made from fruit grown on our Tiger and Sinclair vineyards in the Parkburn area of Cromwell. All the grapes are hand harvested and fermented in small lots in stainless steel tanks helping to retain fruit purity and finesse. The wine is full, dry and textural, it displays excellent fruit structure, intensity and mineral length.
