A delicious modern Australian version of an old world classic. This is a full bodied wine with complex layers of flavour. At its core is rich blackcurrant, and dark cherry, beautifully melding with dark chocolate and hints of charry oak with supple underlying tannins. Overall a very generous, balanced and most enjoyable wine.

Malbec is used here to great effect, filling out the Cabernet and providing a fragrant, spicy lift. In the glass: Deep dark red. On the nose: Camphor, mint and wood smoke over ripe curranty fruit.On the palate: Shows sweet red berry with vanilla and leafy notes. Vibrant and fleshy, youthful and fruit-driven with some background cedary oak and spice complexity, chewy tannin depth and fresh acidity.

A blend of two Clare Valley vineyards and made in quite a cool and protracted vintage, the OR Cabernet displays all the classic flavours of tobacco leaf, spearmint, riper dark fruits, cassis and subtle French oak highlights in an engaging and persistent palate. Finely shaped tannins round out the experience. A wine drinking perfectly in its youth or one that will further cellaring over 15 plus years.
